Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Province Zhang Guozhi attended and spoke at the event. |
Attending and speaking at the event, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Province Zhang Guozhi assessed that 2025 is a particularly meaningful year as it marks the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. Highlighting the special relationship of "both comrades and brothers" between the two countries in the past, Ms. Zhang Guozhi affirmed the importance of promoting the traditional friendship and jointly building a community of shared future of strategic significance between Vietnam and China in the new context.
According to Ms. Truong Quoc Chi, Guangdong province is geographically close and culturally attached to Vietnam, inheriting the traditional friendship between the two countries and actively promoting practical bilateral cooperation. In particular, General Secretary and President To Lam's choice of Guangdong province as the first stop on his state visit to China in August 2024 clearly demonstrates the importance of the locality and its special role in exchange and cooperation activities between China and Vietnam. Vietnam is currently Guangdong's largest trading partner in ASEAN. The total trade turnover between Guangdong province and Vietnam accounts for about 20% of the total bilateral trade turnover. In 2024, this figure skyrocketed to 56.3 billion USD, up 16.6% over the previous year.

This will create new opportunities for cooperation with Vietnam and countries around the world. The Vice Governor of Guangdong Province pledged to work with Vietnam to promote two-way investment and trade, expand cooperation in emerging fields, and achieve win-win cooperation for both sides, bringing benefits to the people of both countries.

Within the framework of the Celebration, the fashion show “Vietnamese Ao Dai meets Cheongsam” was particularly impressive. Each Ao Dai and Cheongsam is hand-cut and sewn individually on soft snow silk fabric. After cutting, all details are meticulously hand-sewn, such as the Ao Dai flap, sleeve hem, and collar. In particular, the patterns and motifs on the Ao Dai are hand-embroidered by artisans, breathing life into each needle and thread so that each petal and leaf comes to life with each graceful step of the model on the catwalk.
The meaningful highlight of the performance was the special design with “80 lotus flowers” and “34 cranes”, embroidered on the red ao dai to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and an important milestone in the process of administrative reform with 34 provinces and cities after the merger.
Each hand-embroidered detail seems to be breathed into life, perfectly depicting the natural beauty of Vietnamese costumes and culture. The ao dai conveys the message of love for the homeland, national pride and the beauty of Vietnamese people by designer Tuan Sanh.
Harmonious performance of Vietnamese and Chinese songs by artists from both countries. |
Another great combination, exuding the cultural and human exchange between the two countries, was the harmonious performance of Vietnamese and Chinese songs between saxophone artist Le Duy Manh and Chinese monochord artist Tang Jia Jia.
In addition to the special performances, “Vietnam Cultural Space” also made a strong impression, causing delegates to take photos and check in continuously. “Vietnam Cultural Space” was meticulously and delicately prepared with lotus flowers, ao dai, conical hats, embroidered scarves, slogans “independence – freedom – happiness”… expressing the beauty and depth of Vietnamese culture as well as national pride on Independence Day.
