At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his joy at the socio -economic achievements that the Romanian people have achieved, and acknowledged the long-standing traditional friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang emphasized that bilateral cooperation has been expanded and deepened, not only in traditional fields such as education, health, construction but also in the environment, tourism, culture and labor exchange. For example, implementing a cooperation model on biosphere conservation and ecotourism between Ben Tre (Vietnam) and Tulcea (Romania); coordination between localities such as Iasi - Hue, Timisoara - Da Nang; or training cooperation between the Petroleum University of Ploiesti and the Petroleum University in Vietnam.
In 2024, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Romania will reach about 533.6 million USD; the two sides aim to increase this figure to 1 billion USD in the coming years.
In addition, Vietnam's decision to waive 90-day visas for Romanian citizens from August 15, 2025 is considered a step to facilitate people-to-people exchange and tourism , which is considered by both sides as key to spreading the image of Vietnam to Romania and vice versa.
Ms. Cristina Romila, Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam, affirmed that Vietnam is currently one of Romania's most important partners in the Asia-Pacific region. She highly appreciated the efforts of friendship organizations in Ho Chi Minh City, considering this a pioneering factor in promoting people-to-people diplomacy and bilateral relations.

This event demonstrates the common determination of both sides in consolidating and deepening the traditional friendship, expanding substantive and diversified cooperation from economy, education, labor, tourism, to culture and people-to-people exchange to build a more sustainable, comprehensive and effective Vietnam - Romania relationship in the coming time.
