During the program, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang had high-level talks with Ms. Amarjeet Kaur, General Secretary of the All India Trade Union Federation, along with leaders of the AITUC and the Indian Banking Union. The two sides emphasized the decades-long close relationship between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the AITUC, and expressed their appreciation for the support that the progressive people of India and the AITUC trade union members had given to Vietnam during the period of national liberation struggle.

At the talks, the two organizations agreed to highly appreciate the results of cooperation over the past time; reaffirmed their commitment to increase delegation exchanges, share experiences in trade union activities and coordinate and support each other at international forums to promote the rights of workers in each country.

During their stay in India, the Vietnamese Trade Union delegation had exchanges and discussions with many industry unions under the AITUC on developing union members, collective bargaining and models for protecting workers’ rights in the new context. The delegation also visited the Mathura refinery to learn about how to organize grassroots trade unions and trade union activities in enterprises.

The exchanged contents are considered important practical lessons for the activities of Vietnamese trade unions in the current innovation process.

The visit contributed to strengthening the traditional friendship and deepening cooperation between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and AITUC, while opening up more practical cooperation directions in the future.
