When unions play the role of a bridge to jobs for workers

The first Job Consultation Day 2025 in Hai Phong was held to directly connect workers with more than 16,000 recruitment positions of 120 businesses. The event also provided information on the labor market and related policies, aiming to provide practical support for students, freelance workers and demobilized soldiers.

From December 5-7, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized the first Job Consulting Day in 2025 at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace. This is an activity to welcome the Hai Phong City Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term and the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the 2026-2031 term, and is also the first large-scale event to be held after the provincial administrative unit was merged.

Connecting and orienting the labor market

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , assessed that direct consulting and recruitment activities play an important role in connecting labor supply and demand. According to Mr. Hung, in the context of a fluctuating labor market, workers need to access accurate information before choosing a job.

Models like the fair help reduce recruitment costs for businesses, while creating conditions for workers to access transparent information sources, limiting risks from unofficial recruitment information.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, the program's goal is to create an environment of equal access for labor groups in the area, especially students about to graduate, freelance workers and discharged soldiers.

Mr. Tuan emphasized that through the multi-dimensional connection space between management agencies, trade unions and enterprises, workers can update recruitment requirements, treatment regimes, recruitment processes as well as policies such as social insurance and trade union benefits. This is necessary information to help workers choose suitable jobs in the context of increasingly clear human resource competition.

In addition to recruitment activities, the Organizing Committee also arranged an area for consulting on social insurance policies, Trade Union Law, health screening and welfare activities to support workers in terms of knowledge and health care conditions. Many union members were further advised on vocational training opportunities, career orientation and necessary skills when entering the labor market. During the opening ceremony, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the City Labor Federation also presented gifts to union members in difficult circumstances, demonstrating the concern of the union organization for vulnerable labor groups.

Recruitment and commitment to regime and benefits

The fair attracted the participation of many large enterprises in the fields of manufacturing, electronics, engineering, garment and services. Units such as LG Display Vietnam, LG Innotek Vietnam, LG Electronics, May Tinh Loi, Sumidenso, Jasan, Horn Vietnam, Maple, Amtran, Brother Vietnam, Heesung, Paishing, Sumida, Chillisin and many other enterprises brought thousands of job opportunities in many different positions. Recruitment needs range from production workers, technicians, office staff to supervisors and managers.

At the event, Mr. Yun Yong Chun, Deputy General Director of LG Innotek Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd., said that the company introduced many positions suitable for both unskilled and technical workers. Mr. Chun emphasized that the company's salary and welfare regime are built in a competitive direction to attract skilled and industrial-style human resources.

In particular, the military force preparing to be discharged is highly appreciated by businesses for its discipline and adaptability. The source of graduates from vocational schools, colleges and universities in Hai Phong is also considered a suitable group of human resources for positions requiring technical and administrative requirements.

According to the Organizing Committee, in addition to recruitment, businesses also provide information on recruitment criteria, probationary procedures, social insurance policies, health insurance and related benefits, helping workers have a basis for comparison to choose the right job.

The City Labor Federation assessed the 2025 Job Consulting Day as an opportunity for workers to access official recruitment information sources, helping businesses shorten the time to find personnel and contribute to shifting the labor structure in a sustainable direction. The organizers hope that the event will effectively support workers in the context of a volatile market.
