Vlahovic has been a top target for Arsenal in the past. |
According to The Athletic , Arsenal will open negotiations with Juventus, as the London club is planning to replace Gabriel Jesus. Once one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, Vlahovic faces an uncertain future this summer, even at risk of having his contract terminated by Juventus early.
According to Sky Italy , the "Old Lady" is considering parting ways with the Serbian striker, who is currently the highest-paid player in Serie A with 12 million euros (after tax) per season. Poor form, a sharp drop in market value and a lack of interest from big clubs have made Vlahovic a financial burden for Juventus.
The former Fiorentina striker's contract with Juventus runs until the summer of 2026, but the Italian club are looking to end their relationship earlier. With Arsenal in the mix, Juventus could consider selling the Serbian for a bargain price of between €15m and €18m.
Arsenal's sporting director Andrés Berta is leading the negotiations. The Italian has a good relationship with Juventus and could help speed up the deal. Arsenal's board hope to complete the deal before the 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off on August 16.
If Vlahovic arrives at Emirates, Arsenal will definitely part ways with Jesus. Since joining the Gunners from Manchester City in 2022 for £45 million, the Brazilian striker has often suffered from poor form and injuries. Jesus' contract with Arsenal runs until June 2027, so the Gunners are ready to sell the player early this summer to avoid being in a passive state next summer.
