Poland has announced that it will reopen two border crossings with Belarus on November 17, after temporarily closing them in September to protest military exercises between Russia and Belarus.

The delay is in solidarity with Lithuania, which has also closed its border with Belarus over security concerns and airspace disruptions caused by balloon incidents. Lithuania plans to keep the closure in place until the end of November.
According to the decision announced on Thursday evening, from November 17, the Bobrowniki border crossing, which is one of the main border crossings between the two countries, will be open to passenger cars and trucks with EU, EFTA and Swiss license plates, while the Kuznica Bialostocka border crossing will be open only to passenger cars.
The Polish Interior Ministry said the reopening of the border is aimed at restarting passenger and cargo transport, meeting the needs of businesses, carriers and workers traveling between the two countries.
