Poland has announced it will reopen two border crossings with Belarus on November 17, after temporarily closing them in September to protest joint military exercises between Russia and Belarus.

This delay is intended to show solidarity with Lithuania, which also closed its border with Belarus due to security concerns and airspace disruptions caused by incidents involving hot air balloons. Lithuania plans to maintain the closure until the end of November.
According to a decision announced Thursday evening, from November 17th, the Bobrowniki border crossing, one of the main crossings between the two countries, will open to passenger cars and trucks with EU, EFTA, and Swiss license plates, while the Kuznica Bialostocka border crossing will only open to passenger cars.
The Polish Interior Ministry said the reopening of the border aims to restart passenger and cargo transport, meeting the needs of businesses, transport companies, and workers traveling between the two countries.
