At around 8pm on June 20, a little girl was playing on the banks of the Saigon River in Thu Dau Mot City when she slipped and fell into the river. Her mother, who was with her, quickly jumped in to save her. However, neither of them knew how to swim, so they were both struggling in the water.
At this time, a young man jumped into the river to save the mother and child, but due to the strong current, he also lost strength and gradually sank with the two victims.
Seeing that, Au Van Tuan, 21 years old, from An Giang, a street vendor, quickly swam out about 15 meters to bring the man and the girl in. Meanwhile, Nguyen Anh Du, 20 years old, from Phu Yen, jumped in to save the mother.
"When I saw three people struggling and calling for help, I didn't think much and just jumped into the river to save them," said Mr. Tuan.

Meanwhile, Mr. Du said that he was out playing when he saw a large crowd of people gathered on the riverbank. When he ran back to see, he saw Mr. Tuan rescuing two people, while the woman was being pushed away by the current, so he quickly jumped in to help.
All three victims were rescued and brought to shore in an exhausted state, and were taken by local people to a nearby medical center to recover.
