Specifically, Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grader from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai), won the Gold Medal. Two Silver Medals went to Dang Huy Hau, a 10th grader from Thang Long High School for the Gifted (Lam Dong) and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, an 11th grader from the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi). Ninh Quang Thang, a 12th grader from Ha Long High School for the Gifted (Quang Ninh) won the Bronze Medal.

With 100% of the candidates winning prizes, the Vietnamese national IOI team continues to affirm its position in the group of 8 countries and territories with the highest achievements in this year's competition, ranked after China, Korea, Romania, Singapore, Bulgaria, Hungary and Japan.
The 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025) took place from July 27 in Bolivia, gathering 330 contestants from 86 countries and territories. Russia and Belarus participated under the Olympic flag. According to the regulations of the IOI Council, the competition consists of two official competition days. On each day, contestants will take a 5-hour programming test, solving 3 highly applicable problems. The test is graded online with the results announced publicly in real time.
The IOI 2025 exam is assessed to be highly difficult, consisting of 6 tests with 6 different types of questions, requiring candidates to not only have solid programming knowledge but also need creative thinking and flexible problem solving ability.
As the world enters the era of digital industry and artificial intelligence, the IOI exam is increasingly attracting large investments from countries. The fact that the Vietnamese team continues to maintain high achievements in this leading intellectual arena shows the quality and right direction in the work of discovering and training excellent students of the Vietnamese education sector.
The closing ceremony and award ceremony were held by the Organizing Committee on the afternoon of August 2 (Bolivian time). The achievements of the Vietnamese team at IOI 2025 once again affirmed the outstanding capacity of the Vietnamese student generation in the field of technology - programming, while contributing to raising the position of Vietnamese education on the world education map.
