In late October, in village 3 (Chu Prong commune), the "Cultural Family" evaluation activity took place enthusiastically and openly. Each household was evaluated, discussed, and commented on publicly at the village meeting or at each household.
Mr. Tran Quang Nguyen shared: “Every year, my family registers to build a “Cultural Family”. Being recognized is not only a source of pride but also a motivation for us to continue to maintain a civilized lifestyle, develop the economy , and build a happy family”.

According to Mr. Duong Ba Dung - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Village 3, in 2024, the village had 489/520 households achieving the title of "Cultural Family". The valuable thing is that this movement really goes into depth, no longer just a formality.
“People proactively implement village conventions and regulations; actively participate in community activities and compete in economic development. Before the evaluation, the village holds a general meeting to publicize the results.
After that, the list will be posted for 10 days at the village cultural house. When the list is highly unanimous, it will be sent to the commune People's Committee to recognize the cultural title" - Mr. Dung emphasized.
In Ia O commune, the evaluation of cultural titles is also carried out strictly and in accordance with regulations. Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Tuan said: Based on the regulations on the evaluation of the titles "Cultural Family" and "Cultural Village", the commune has developed a specific plan, assigning clear responsibilities to each member of the Steering Committee.
The entire process is guaranteed to be honest, objective, open and fair. In particular, only households that register and meet the criteria according to the scoreboard are considered for awards.
“From that seriousness, the quality of cultural titles in Ia O commune is increasingly improved. Villages and hamlets not only focus on implementing civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals, but also care about protecting the environment, developing production, and maintaining security and order.
Thanks to that, the movement to build a cultural life has truly spread, associated with improving the material and spiritual life of the people," said Mr. Tuan.
In Binh Khe commune, the Movement Steering Committee also synchronously deployed many solutions to improve the effectiveness of evaluation. The whole commune currently has 5,586 households with 21,680 people registered to build cultural families; 10/10 villages registered to strive to continue to achieve the cultural title by 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Binh Khe Commune - said: "We pay special attention to the work of guidance, inspection and supervision. The Commune Steering Committee assigns cadres to be in charge of each locality, regularly monitors the situation, detects problems to promptly support and resolve. The evaluation is carried out seriously, avoiding favoritism and leveling."
According to Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, every year, the Department issues documents guiding the process of reviewing and recognizing cultural titles in accordance with the latest regulations.
At the same time, organize inspections and training sessions for the Steering Committees at district and commune levels to ensure consistency in the way of working. The goal is to make sure that the titles truly reflect the quality of cultural life at the grassroots level, not chasing after quantity or achievements.
According to Ms. Huong, for the evaluation to be effective, it is necessary to strengthen propaganda so that people clearly understand the meaning of the movement and the rights and responsibilities of each individual, family, and residential area. When people voluntarily register, self-evaluate, self-monitor, and self-evaluate the titles they have achieved, the movement will truly have depth and spread.
In fact, in many localities in the province, the movement to build a cultural life has become a solid foundation for comprehensive social development. The evaluation criteria are increasingly specified, linked with other movements.
In villages and hamlets, the evaluation is organized in conjunction with the National Great Unity Day. This is not only an opportunity to honor and reward exemplary cultural families and residential areas, but also an opportunity for the community to share, learn from experiences and set out directions for the following year.
