Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association Bui Khac Son expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region to visit and work in Vietnam, considering this a meaningful activity contributing to enhancing understanding, trust and connection between the people of the two countries.

He affirmed that the Vietnam-Japan relationship is developing strongly within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world, in which people-to-people exchange and local cooperation are the sustainable foundation. The Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association will continue to closely coordinate with Japanese friendship organizations, localities and businesses, especially in the Kansai region, to expand specific and effective cooperation activities in the coming time.
Mr. Son added that in early December 2025, the Association plans to send a working delegation to Japan, with Osaka - the center of the Kansai region - as the first destination, to promote bilateral cooperation at the local and people levels.

Mr. Nishimura Teiichi, Chairman of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region, thanked the Vietnamese side for the welcome and expressed sympathy with the Vietnamese people affected by the storm and flood. He said that over the past 30 years, the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region has continuously expanded its activities, from cultural exchanges, investment promotion, business connections to supporting the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Kansai. The Association is also an active unit in campaigning for the establishment of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, organizing many activities to promote the image of Vietnam.
Members of the Japanese delegation expressed their special attachment to Vietnam, emphasizing that people-to-people exchange is a strong bond that connects the two nations. Mr. Motonori Tsuno, former Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam, shared his more than 30 years of attachment to Vietnam and recalled the words of the late Japanese Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama: “People are the source of all relationships”, saying that this is especially true in the Vietnam - Japan relationship.
Mr. Keiichi Hasegawa, President of EHLE Academy (Osaka), said that there are currently about 600 Vietnamese students studying at the school. The Academy has signed cooperation agreements with 13 Vietnamese universities, annually supporting hundreds of Vietnamese students to do internships and find jobs at Japanese enterprises. He affirmed that EHLE Academy will continue to expand educational cooperation and support the young generation of Vietnam in studying and working in Japan, contributing to promoting people-to-people exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh, Vice President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, stated that the Vietnam - Japan relationship is at its best period in history, expanding comprehensively in all fields. He expressed his gratitude for the affection and support of the Japanese Government, people and organizations, including friendship associations, for Vietnam over the past time.
Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, expressed that after many years working in Japan, he deeply felt the sincere feelings of the people of the two countries for each other. He emphasized that the Vietnam - Japan relationship will continue to develop sustainably if both sides maintain and cultivate the foundation of trust and mutual understanding.
