At the reception for the Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam and 41 senior Japanese volunteers visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu congratulated the JOCVs Program on the occasion of its 30th anniversary of implementation in Vietnam.
The Deputy Minister highly appreciated ODA projects in general and the JOCVs program in particular, which have made important contributions to Vietnam's economic and social development as well as strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan over the past 30 years.

Reporting on the situation of sending Japanese volunteers to Vietnam, Mr. Kobayashi Yosuke, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam, thanked the Government and Ministries for creating favorable conditions for the Program to be implemented smoothly.
Representatives of volunteers working in the fields of rehabilitation, Japanese language teaching, cultural development and community tourism shared their feelings about life and work during their time working in Vietnam, thanking the Vietnamese Government, localities and relevant agencies for their attention and support for volunteers during their time living and working in Vietnam. The volunteers expressed their love for the country, people and culture of Vietnam, and shared their plans to return when their term of assignment ends.
Pleased with the good, increasingly comprehensive and substantial development of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with high political trust, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu suggested that the Japanese Government and JICA continue to pay attention to promoting ODA cooperation between the two countries in general, the volunteer dispatch program in particular, expanding the dispatch of volunteers to areas where Japan has strengths and Vietnam has needs such as infrastructure construction, institutional improvement, innovation, science and technology, promoting cultural exchange, people-to-people exchange, etc.
The Deputy Minister hopes that the volunteers will continue to promote their understanding and love for Vietnam, be an active bridge, and contribute to the development of friendly cooperation and understanding between the people of the two countries after returning to Japan.
