Accordingly, the sharpest increase in live pig prices was recorded in the Central-Central Highlands region, with a rise of 1,000-4,000 VND/kg, bringing the purchase price in this area to 62,000-65,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, after an upward adjustment of 4,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in Da Nang and Quang Ngai reached 65,000 VND/kg, while in Gia Lai it rose to 64,000 VND/kg.

In Quang Tri and Hue, the price of live pigs increased by 3,000 VND/kg, reaching 64,000 VND/kg; in Ha Tinh, it increased by 2,000 VND/kg to 64,000 VND/kg; in Thanh Hoa, it increased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 64,000 VND/kg; and in Nghe An, Dak Lak , and Khanh Hoa, the price increased by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the purchase price to 62,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, in both the North and South, today's live pig prices increased by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg, bringing the price across the North to fluctuate between 62,000-65,000 VND/kg; while in the South it fluctuates between 59,000-63,000 VND/kg.
This is the first time this year that the price of live pigs has increased by 4,000 VND/kg, and it has also reached a new peak of 65,000 VND/kg.
According to experts and businesses, the sharp increase in pork prices in recent weeks reflects a localized supply shortage in some areas, especially those severely affected by floods.
In the South, the abundant supply has resulted in only a slight price increase, following the general market trend. In the coming period, the regulation of supply and demand between regions will help stabilize pork prices soon.
