Over the past week, numerous clashes have occurred between the forces of the two countries on the border between Thailand and Cambodia. Following the escalation of tensions at the border, both Cambodia and Thailand simultaneously carried out large-scale evacuations and closed hundreds of schools.

Over the past few days, both countries have used heavy weaponry, including F-16 fighter jets and multiple rocket launchers, to attack targets along the disputed border, resulting in casualties.

In telephone conversations and meetings between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and leaders of several ASEAN countries, deep concern was expressed regarding the escalating tensions between Cambodia and Thailand. The leaders hoped that all parties would exercise restraint, refrain from the use of force, engage in dialogue, and resolve the issue peacefully .

Thailand and Cambodia clashed at the border in July, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries. The two sides subsequently signed a peace agreement in Kuala Lumpur on October 26th, witnessed by US President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
