Quang Truong stands out with his natural demeanor, intelligent acting, and especially his "very real" portrayal of Trang Quynh - humorous, intelligent, and full of humanity.

“This is truly a great happiness and emotion for me. After months of training and sacrifice, my efforts are finally recognized. This Gold Medal is the motivation for me to continue to contribute to the traditional art of Cheo ,” Quang Truong shared.

He said that when he received the opportunity to participate in the festival, he was both happy and pressured. Standing on the same stage with many seniors is an honor, but also a big challenge for young artists. However, it was the trust, encouragement and dedicated guidance from teachers and colleagues that helped him fully complete his role, contributing to creating a successful play.

According to Quang Truong, the role of Trang Quynh is a difficult challenge, because the character is both humorous and profound. " The hardest thing when playing Trang Quynh is how to express the intelligence and humor while still being very real and simple of the character. Trang Quynh in Cheo is not only a person who likes to joke, often uses profound words to satirize, but also represents intelligence, the voice of the poor people," he said.

Few people know that before achieving the success he has today, Quang Truong once quit his job because of the difficulties. After graduating, he joined the Vietnam Cheo Theatre right at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, operating budget was reduced, and the artist's life was difficult.

However, he missed the stage lights too much, loved the Cheo melodies too much, so he asked to join the Hanoi Cheo Theatre, where the leadership trusted him and created conditions for him to participate in many roles. From small roles to extras, he persistently practiced, putting his heart and soul into each performance. This year's Gold Medal is a worthy reward for that never-give-up journey.

Talking about his passion for traditional art, Quang Truong affirmed: " Although pursuing the profession of Cheo is difficult and arduous, when you can live in the role, stand under the stage lights, and contribute to the audience, it turns into joy, happiness and pride that cannot be replaced by anything."

He also expressed his wish that Cheo would be brought to schools and performed more often to reach young people. According to him, artists need to both restore old plays and stage modern works that keep up with trends, while increasing promotion on social media platforms to bring Cheo closer to young audiences.
