Bac Lieu is ready for the Vietnam Salt Festival 2025

(CLO) The Vietnam Salt Festival with the theme "Enhancing the value of Vietnamese salt" will be held from March 6 to 8 with a cost of up to 15 billion VND.

The People's Committee of Bac Lieu province said that the organization of the Vietnam - Bac Lieu Salt Festival in 2025: "100-year journey of salt making - People's life", aims to honor, preserve and develop the traditional salt making profession, enhance the value of Vietnam's salt making profession in general, and of Bac Lieu province in particular, thereby arousing the love of traditional professions of the young generation with qualifications to participate in production, business and start-up activities from the salt making profession.

At the same time, this is an opportunity to introduce and promote the image, people, potential, strengths, and typical products of Bac Lieu to people and tourists at home and abroad.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Salt Festival will take place at two main locations: Bac Lieu City and Dong Hai District; officially opening at 8:00 p.m. on March 6 at Hung Vuong Square (Ward 1, Bac Lieu City).

Before the Opening Ceremony, there will be a field survey program of Bac Lieu province's salt fields and the inauguration ceremony of the Dong Hai salt field infrastructure upgrade project, Dong Hai district from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 6 at the salt fields of Bac Lieu province (Dien Hai commune, Long Dien Dong commune, Dong Hai district and Vinh Thinh commune, Hoa Binh district).

It is expected that the Vietnam - Bac Lieu Salt Festival and Bac Lieu Investment Promotion Conference in 2025 will have the participation of 47 international agencies, organizations and individuals and about 800 domestic guests.

Before the opening ceremony, there will be a field survey of the salt fields in Bac Lieu province and an inauguration ceremony for the Dong Hai salt field infrastructure upgrade project from 2 to 5 p.m. on March 6.

In addition, from March 6 to 8, there will be outstanding activities such as: Exhibition space, introducing salt, spices and OCOP products at the Festival.

It is expected that there will be about 100 booths introducing and displaying salt products, OCOP products and equipment and technology for salt production and processing.

Within the framework of the Festival, there will be a workshop on "Orientation and solutions for developing Bac Lieu salt tourism products", a conference on promoting investment in Bac Lieu province in 2025, a conference to review the implementation of Decree No. 40/2017/ND-CP dated April 5, 2017 of the Government on salt production and trading management, a workshop on "Bac Lieu salt quality, with the traditional Phu Quoc fish sauce production process", a workshop on "Application of science and technology in salt production, adaptation to climate change"...

According to Mr. Pham Van Thieu (Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee), the Festival not only helps to honor and preserve the salt industry but also aims to help salt farmers make a better living from salt. "The salt industry is full of ups and downs, but we hope that after this event, salt will not only be salty but also sweet with humanity, sweet with meaning, and sweet with the future for salt farmers," Mr. Thieu shared.

The festival also opens up opportunities to connect the salt industry with the fields of tourism, cuisine, and healthcare, thereby enhancing the value of salt grains in the domestic and international markets. With its large scale and important significance, the Vietnam Salt Festival 2025 promises to become an important milestone in the development of the salt industry, bringing sustainable benefits to salt makers and businesses in the industry.
