Private economy and international integration promote growth
In An Phu commune, Ms. Le Thi Phuong Thao - owner of Tan Phu Hung facility is busy coordinating the team of workers at the raw material production site and managing the display store, delivering goods to customers in Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Thao is known for her idea of enhancing the value of traditional mats, improving designs, changing styles to suit modern life, while preserving traditional features. The products are made from natural materials such as uzu, sedge, creating more than 100 different types of products such as handbags, sandals, hats, bags, laptop bags... with a consumption output of more than 1,500 products per month, favored by domestic and foreign customers.
Stories like Ms. Thao's are not uncommon in An Giang. The province has nearly 20,000 operating businesses. In the period 2021 - 2025, the whole province has 12,300 newly established businesses, with a total registered capital of more than 308,000 billion VND, contributing 27.19% to the province's GRDP. Total social investment capital increases by an average of nearly 10% per year. Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo expects the private sector to become a driving force for breakthroughs, maintaining a high growth rate, aiming for a double-digit growth target.
Regarding international integration, implementing Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW, An Giang has signed friendship relations with 21 localities of 9 countries such as: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Japan, Korea, France, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands... The province attracted 57 FDI projects, with a total capital of 2,777 million USD out of a total of 1,507 licensed projects. The export market has been expanded to more than 60 countries and territories, with an average export turnover growth of 7.34%/year. The border gate system such as Tinh Bien, Vinh Xuong, Ha Tien, Giang Thanh and seaports have been upgraded, promoting import and export, facilitating trade with Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore...
Digital transformation - the foundation for modern government
An Giang affirms its dynamic position in the Mekong Delta with its strengths in agriculture, trade, and tourism; at the same time, it gradually innovates, applies science, technology, and digital transformation. Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung highly appreciated the efforts of the sectors in implementing the resolutions, especially digital transformation in administration, operation, and serving the people, production, and business.
Currently, the province has about 118 digital technology enterprises. At the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, An Giang pioneered the application of facial recognition technology (Face ID) to replace documents, and at the same time deployed the application "Party Congress Solution" as a digital assistant to comprehensively support congress activities.
According to the Department of Home Affairs, the province has simultaneously operated 102 public administrative service centers in communes, wards, special zones and provincial centers, creating a "one-stop shop" to receive and process more than 1,800 administrative procedures, of which more than 1,000 procedures are carried out online. The rate of handling documents before the deadline and on time reached 94.87%, well meeting the needs of people and businesses.
Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Le Quoc Cuong said that digital infrastructure has been widely covered throughout the province. Currently, 100% of hamlets, quarters, and neighborhoods are connected to high-speed fiber optic internet; data from communes to provinces is interconnected to help local authorities at two levels operate smoothly. More than 1,000 community digital technology groups, with nearly 8,000 members, support people in accessing online public services. The rate of households with fixed broadband connections is 83.17%; 3G and 4G coverage is 100% in communes.
Implementing Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW, the Department of Justice advised the Provincial People's Committee to review, control and improve the quality of legal documents. After reviewing 886 documents (354 resolutions, 532 decisions), the Provincial People's Council issued a resolution to abolish 101 resolutions that were no longer appropriate. The Provincial People's Committee abolished 210 decisions that were no longer appropriate, contributing to creating an open and favorable legal environment for socio-economic development.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung affirmed that the effective implementation of the four main resolutions of the Politburo is of great significance, creating a driving force for comprehensive development for An Giang in the new period. To implement the resolution in depth, the Department of Science and Technology is assigned to focus on digital transformation to serve the people, especially public administrative service centers. The Department of Health and the Department of Education and Training advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to achieve the goal of putting An Giang in the top group of the country in digital transformation in the fields of health and education. Departments and branches continue to make efforts, closely follow the tasks, ensure the resolution is implemented synchronously and effectively, contributing to the development of the province.
The four main resolutions of the Politburo include: Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW, dated January 24, 2025 on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW, dated April 30, 2025 on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, dated May 4, 2025 on private economic development. |
