Responding to emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Catholics in the province have made many contributions, spreading the spirit of "Living the Gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of compatriots". These contributions not only enhance the image of Catholics living "a good life, a good religion", but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Actively participate in patriotic emulation movements

According to Father Nguyen Van Nhut - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics, the whole province currently has more than 221,800 Catholics. Over the past years, Catholic activities have been stable and orderly; the material and spiritual life of Catholics has been increasingly improved, people have actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the construction of their homeland. In many parishes, parish priests have proactively coordinated with the government and the Fatherland Front to organize propaganda and mobilize parishioners to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. At the same time, they have actively participated in activities such as: Building new rural areas, protecting the environment, supporting the poor, preventing and fighting epidemics... The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has been concretized by parishes with many effective models. Many Catholic families have actively built a civilized lifestyle, strictly obeying the laws on security, order and traffic safety.

Responding to the emulation movement of labor and production, many parishioners boldly applied scientific and technical advances to cultivation, achieving high productivity. Typical examples include Mr. Nguyen Hay (Phan Rang ward) who produces 3 rice crops/year, with a total output of 150 tons; Mr. Nguyen Van Tan (Ninh Hai commune) who applies new cultivation processes, with a yield of 7-9 tons/ha. In the business field, many successful Catholic businessmen have actively contributed to the economic development of the province. Typical examples include Mr. Tran Dinh Minh - Director of Nam Thanh Ninh Thuan Construction, Trade and Production Co., Ltd., which is creating jobs for more than 600 workers; Mr. Thai Ngoc Binh - Director of Thai Van Long Co., Ltd. (Bao An ward) specializing in garment, creating jobs for more than 250 workers; Mr. Nguyen Quang Duy - General Director of DT Group (North Nha Trang ward) which is creating regular jobs for 250 workers. These enterprises not only contribute to economic development but also actively participate in social security activities and support the locality. In mountainous communes such as Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh, parishioners plant thousands of hectares of acacia, contributing to greening barren land and bare hills, creating a stable source of livelihood...

Responding to the movement of the entire people protecting national security, parishes have established many self-governing groups and civil defense teams that operate effectively; parishioners actively coordinate with local authorities to detect and prevent social evils, and maintain peace in residential areas. A typical example is Dong Da Parish (Tay Ninh Hoa commune), which was commended by the Ministry of Public Security for its outstanding achievements in the self-governing movement, protecting security and order. In addition, Catholics actively participate in environmental protection activities. Every week, parishes maintain volunteer teams to clean, care for trees, and repair lighting, contributing to building a clean and beautiful living environment.

Spread the spirit of charity

Responding to the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, live a good life, and be religious", parishes and religious orders have carried out many practical and widespread activities. Notably, Catholics have accompanied the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. With the joint efforts of parish priests, philanthropists and parishioners, the whole province has supported the construction of 50 new houses, the repair of 30 houses and 27 sanitation facilities for the poor, with a total cost of more than 3 billion VND. In many parishes, the spirit of solidarity and sharing is always strongly promoted.

Spreading the spirit of charity, over the past years, 77 parishes and chapels in Nha Trang, Dien Khanh, Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa, Cam Ranh, Cam Lam have maintained activities to care for 72 people infected with HIV; supported study costs for 62 cases; and provided free dental examinations for 200 people. Priest Mai Tinh (musician Mi Tram) has mobilized benefactors to donate 500 bicycles to poor and studious students in mountainous communes. Activities to care for people's lives have spread widely in many parishes. The Lovers of the Holy Cross, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the Word of God have cared for and raised more than 300 orphans, lonely elderly people, lepers, and many other people in especially difficult circumstances.

Promoting the spirit of the State and People working together, Go Den Parish (Xuan Hai Commune) called on parishioners to contribute working days to build a 180m long, 4m wide inter-village concrete road; Phuoc An Parish (Phuoc Hau Commune) mobilized parishioners to contribute money and working days to build a 100m long, 5m wide concrete road at a cost of more than 100 million VND. In La Vang 1 and La Vang 2 villages (Ninh Son Commune), Quang Thuan Parish mobilized parishioners to donate garden land to expand 11 traffic routes and build drainage culverts to facilitate people's travel...
