At the conference, delegates reviewed the tradition of the sector. 70 years ago, on August 2, 1955, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam issued Decree No. 566/TTg on the establishment of the Religious Affairs Committee, a unit within the Government Internal Affairs Committee, directly under the Prime Minister 's Office, the predecessor of today's Government Religious Affairs Committee. On May 27, 2005, the Prime Minister designated August 2 every year as the "Traditional Day of the State Management of Religions".

Officials and civil servants have constantly strived to improve their qualifications and qualities, and to perform well their roles in the field of state management of beliefs and religions. At the same time, they have actively propagated and mobilized dignitaries, officials, monks, followers of religious organizations and religious practitioners to operate in compliance with the law under the motto "accompanying the nation". This contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc, ensuring security and order, and building and developing the homeland to become increasingly civilized and modern.
With its achievements, the Department of Religion has been recognized by all levels and awarded many noble titles, including the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Third Class Labor Medal awarded by the President.
Currently, there are two main religions in the province: Buddhism, Catholicism and some Protestants. Religious activities are stable and comply with the law. In the coming time, the Department of Religion will continue to promote traditions and successfully complete its advisory tasks to the leaders of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to effectively carry out State management in the field of religion, contributing to the development of the province.
