Bac Ninh strives to become a centrally-run city

In the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Bac Ninh strives to have 4 cities before 2030: Bac Ninh, Tu Son, Tien Du, Yen Phong; 2 towns: Que Vo, Thuan Thanh; 2 districts: Luong Tai, Gia Binh. Bac Ninh province meets the criteria of a class I urban area and becomes a centrally-run city.

Will become a centrally governed city

In the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Bac Ninh identifies the general goal by 2030 as "becoming a centrally-run city; a dynamic economic and cultural center of the Northern region; one of the development poles of the Red River Delta, closely connected with the capital Hanoi; with a synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure system. National defense, security, order and social safety are guaranteed. People have a prosperous, civilized and happy life".

Bac Ninh also set out some specific targets such as an average GRDP growth rate of 8% - 9%/year; the proportion of GRDP of industry and construction is about 72.7%; services about 21.7%; agriculture, forestry and fishery about 1.6%; product tax minus product subsidies about 4.0%. GRDP per capita (current price) is about 346.6 million VND/person. Export turnover is about 50 billion USD; import is about 42 billion USD.

In terms of vision to 2050, Bac Ninh will be a centrally-governed city, among the top localities in the country in terms of economic scale; one of the leading high-tech industrial, research and development, and smart manufacturing centers in Asia and the world ; a green, smart, modern, livable city with a high level of development, imbued with the cultural identity of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac. People enjoy social services and quality of life on par with developed countries in the Asian region.

Shopping, commercial and consumer center of the capital region

The key task of Bac Ninh in the coming time is to focus investment resources on industry and services; focus on developing industries with development potential; transform and attract investment into new industry groups.

At the same time, substantially and effectively implement administrative reform and digital transformation; build digital government associated with building a team of professional and modern officials and civil servants; encourage start-ups, innovation, and arouse the desire for development among people and businesses. Develop high-quality human resources, attract and utilize talents.

Regarding the development direction of important industries, Bac Ninh will focus on developing high-tech and green industries, forming a leading electronics center in Vietnam associated with smart technology, accelerating the progress of large industrial projects, having a spillover effect to become the main driving force for economic growth of the province and the whole country. Diversify and promote the development of high-tech manufacturing industries producing semiconductor equipment, information technology, pharmaceutical industry, healthcare, renewable energy equipment... to enhance the position of Bac Ninh province's industry in the global value chain.

Building Bac Ninh into a shopping, commercial and consumption center of the Capital region; promoting trade development associated with green and sustainable urban development to create an ideal living space to attract high-quality human resources; promoting e-commerce development; developing services in a diverse and sustainable direction; focusing on high-value service industries with potential and advantages such as: information technology services, telecommunications, logistics, finance and other support services.

Tourism will be a key economic sector.

Bac Ninh focuses on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, prioritizing the development of craft village ecotourism, historical and time experience tourism, unique and attractive tourism products associated with the cultural values ​​of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac people; enhancing the role of promoting and introducing the image of Bac Ninh province to domestic and international friends.

Regarding the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, Bac Ninh will promote the development of high-tech agriculture, clean agriculture, concentrated commodity agriculture, circular agriculture associated with processing industry, participating in value chains; improving productivity, efficiency and making the most of land funds; taking the lead in building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

Developing urban agriculture, promoting economic cooperation between the agricultural sector and the industrial, trade, service and tourism sectors, contributing to the goal of industrialization of Bac Ninh province's agriculture./.
