According to EarthSky, the October supermoon is also known as the “Harvest Supermoon” - a name originating from the agricultural tradition in the Northern Hemisphere, when the bright moonlight helps farmers extend the harvest season.

This is also the first supermoon of 2025. The moon appears about 8% larger and up to 16% brighter than a normal full moon.

Accordingly, the moon will reach its maximum fullness at 10:48 a.m. on October 7 (Vietnam time), but on the nights of October 6 and 7, observers around the world can admire the brightest and most beautiful full moon of the year, blending with the reunion atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

According to Farmers' Almanac, there will be two more supermoons in 2025, expected to appear on November 5 and December 4.

These phenomena are rare opportunities for astronomy lovers to observe the moon in its bright, full, and closest form to Earth.
