Bac Ninh: Awarding Certificates of Merit to students who won Gold Medals at the 2025 Asian Physics Olympiad

Nguyen Cong Vinh is one of 8 contestants of the Vietnam National Team participating in the 25th Asian Physics Olympiad held from May 4-12, 2025 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Nguyen Cong Vinh and his fellow contestants won 3 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze Medals, putting Vietnam in the group of 5 countries with the highest achievements in the competition.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Cong Vinh not only won first prize but was also the valedictorian of the national high school Physics competition. Previously, Cong Vinh competed and won the Bronze Medal at the 2024 European Physics Olympiad (EPhO); first prize in Physics at the national Physics competition for excellent high school students in the 2023-2024 school year.

With the achievement of winning the Gold Medal at the 25th Asian Physics Olympiad, Nguyen Cong Vinh is one of the 5 official members selected by the Ministry of Education and Training to join the Vietnam National Team to participate in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) held in the Republic of France from July 17-25.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan congratulated Nguyen Cong Vinh, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and the provincialeducation and training sector for his outstanding achievements. At the same time, he affirmed that in addition to the students' own efforts, this excellent result shows that the training system at all levels and key training of Bac Ninh is on the right track, creating talents for the province and the country.

From 2021 to present, Bac Ninh province has had 23 students participating in regional and international Olympic competitions, of which 18 students won prizes.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan congratulated the outstanding achievements of Nguyen Cong Vinh, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and the provincial education sector.

In the context that Bac Ninh province is strongly implementing the contents of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan requested the staff, teachers and students of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted to maintain the brand as an outstanding local specialized school, continue to train and foster talented students to contribute talents to the country. At the same time, he hoped that Nguyen Cong Vinh would continue to review and practice to achieve the best results at the upcoming International Physics Olympiad.

Leaders of Bac Ninh province and the education and training sector met and encouraged students before taking part in the selection exam for the National Team to compete regionally and internationally in 2025.

Expressing his emotion when receiving the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Cong Vinh sincerely thanked the attention and encouragement of the provincial leaders and the education and training sector during his studies; and the dedicated and loving guidance and teaching of the teachers at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted.

"This will be a great source of motivation for me to continue to make efforts, compete with determination, and strive to achieve high results at the International Physics Olympiad next July," Nguyen Cong Vinh shared.

Along with Nguyen Cong Vinh, Bac Ninh has 2 students from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted selected by the Ministry of Education and Training to be on the Vietnamese team to compete in the 2025 International Olympics. They are: Truong Thanh Xuan, a member of the Vietnamese team competing in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO); Ngo Quang Minh, a member of the Vietnamese team competing in the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICho),

Two 12th grade Physics students from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Tran Hieu and Ha Tuan Kiet, have just been announced by the Vietnam Physics Association to be selected for the Vietnamese team to participate in the European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) 2025, which will be held in mid-June.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province, this year, the province has 5 students participating in 6 exams (3 international, 3 regional) in all 3 subjects: Math, Physics and Chemistry.
