How much does a veterinarian make?

My parents don't want me to pursue Veterinary Medicine so I want to learn about job prospects and salary before making a decision.

I am a female, in grade 12 and intend to study Advanced Veterinary Medicine at the University of Agriculture and Forestry. My parents advised me not to study this major because all day I just vaccinate buffaloes and dogs; the salary is low.
