The People's Committee of Ta Thanh Oai commune (Thanh Tri district) affirms that the information about an elevator falling at Dai Thanh apartment building, as shared on social media, is inaccurate.

On March 20th, in an interview with a reporter, a leader of the People's Committee of Ta Thanh Oai commune (Thanh Tri district, Hanoi ) stated that the information circulating on social media about an elevator accident at Dai Thanh apartment building is false.

Previously, social media posted information along with an article stating: "Elevator in CT8 building of Dai Thanh apartment complex has fallen, and people inside, including young children and women, are trapped. The situation is very serious..."

The content is circulating on social media.

The information and images circulating online have attracted a great deal of public attention.

"I confirm that there was no case of an elevator falling as claimed on social media; there was only one case of someone getting stuck in an elevator on the afternoon of March 19th."

"There were about 20 people in the elevator at the time, including children and the elderly. However, after about 5 minutes, the management team managed to open the elevator doors and get everyone out," a representative of the Ta Thanh Oai Commune People's Committee said.

Regarding the information about residents gathering on the evening of March 19th, the aforementioned representative stated that the authorities are working with the management board of Dai Thanh apartment building on the incident where residents went down to the lobby to protest against the elevator malfunctions, which are affecting their lives.

According to him, there are currently three malfunctioning elevators in CT8A, CT8B, and CT8C. Each time they break down, the management board notifies residents to pay for repairs, causing frustration and delays in repairs that affect residents' lives.
