The third National Journalism Award Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) - 2025 will be held this evening, January 5th, coinciding with the 79th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2025).

After more than 11 months since its launch, the Organizing Committee received 4,079 entries from 163 media outlets. The preliminary and final judging panels worked objectively, fairly, and transparently, selecting 83 outstanding works to be recommended to the Organizing Committee for awards; including 8 A prizes, 15 B prizes, 20 C prizes, and 40 consolation prizes.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , and Chairman of the Final Judging Panel, assessed that many works were meticulously prepared, and their quality had significantly improved. Local newspapers and broadcasting agencies are gradually achieving high awards comparable to those of central agencies.

This shows that newsrooms, radio and television stations, and individual authors are very conscious of investing in improving the quality of journalistic works in general, as well as journalistic works about the National Assembly and People's Councils in particular, spreading the decisions of the National Assembly and People's Councils more effectively to voters nationwide.

According to Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, in recent times, the press has been very active and proactive, not only purely reflecting the orientations, decisions, and strategies of the Party and State leaders, but also offering critiques, assessments, and expert perspectives, helping to consolidate and refine these ideas.

Professor, Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Vice Chairman of the Final Judging Panel, stated that the outstanding feature of the works participating in this year's Dien Hong Award is their close adherence to real-life situations as well as the Party and State's guidelines and policies, such as: issues that the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels are involved in resolving; and the National Assembly and People's Councils' reform issues related to streamlining the organizational structure to be lean, efficient, effective, and effective…

These are topics that are not only covered by central press and media agencies, but also analyzed in depth by many local press and media agencies, resulting in high-quality works.

Diverse topics and fields

According to the Organizing Committee, the entries for the third Dien Hong Award competition were diverse, increasing in both quantity and quality, especially in the categories of online journalism, radio, television, and print media.

With diverse themes and fields, the works vividly reflect the new guiding priorities of the Politburo , the Central Committee of the 13th Party Congress, and General Secretary To Lam, especially the issues facing the country and the entire political system in preparing the strength and determination to lead the country into a new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's resurgence.

As the highest representative body of the people and the highest state power organ of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the National Assembly has consistently demonstrated its role in exercising constitutional and legislative powers, deciding on important national issues, and exercising supreme oversight over state activities, in accordance with practical circumstances, with the ultimate goal of: acting for the national and ethnic interests, speaking the voice of the people, and fulfilling the will and aspirations of the people. This is also a theme vividly reflected in many literary works.

Following two successful seasons, the third Dien Hong Award continues to be implemented effectively and widely, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of information and propaganda work and raising public awareness of the position, role, functions, tasks, organization, and activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils; promoting the dissemination of Party resolutions, laws, ordinances, resolutions of the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and decisions of the People's Councils into life.

This is also an opportunity to encourage reporters and media agencies to actively participate in and publicize the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, and to promptly reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people nationwide.
