The closing ceremony and awards presentation for the second National Journalism Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) in 2024 was held at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace in Hanoi. This is an important and meaningful event to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024).
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; former National Assembly Chairmen Nguyen Sinh Hung and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Dien Hong Award Steering Committee - were in attendance.
Also attending were members of the Politburo , Secretaries of the Central Committee of the Party, leaders of the Government, the National Assembly, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, central and local agencies, etc.
Speaking on behalf of the Party, State leaders and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man emphasized that, building on the success of the first Dien Hong Award, this year the number of awards and the value of the prizes have increased; despite the limited time, only 6 months after the first season, the Organizing Committee received 2,679 high-quality entries from 138 media agencies at both the central and local levels, showcasing many innovative, creative, and engaging works that were well-received and highly appreciated by readers.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly commended the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Award for proactively implementing the process in a scientific, systematic, professional, and effective manner, with the Judging Panel consisting of experienced, reputable, impartial, objective, and transparent members; especially the authors of the 79 outstanding works carefully selected, including 7 A Prizes; 14 B Prizes; 20 C Prizes; and 38 Encouragement Prizes, to be honored at the ceremony.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that, inheriting and building upon the glorious traditions of the 78-year history of the Vietnamese National Assembly, the 15th National Assembly has been and continues to strive for innovation, improving the quality of its operations and achieving many important and comprehensive results in legislative work, supreme supervision, and decision-making on important national issues. At the local level, the activities of People's Councils at all levels have become increasingly practical and effective.
2024 is a particularly important year in implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the Resolution on the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025 of the National Assembly. The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that press agencies and journalists will continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, dedication, and love for their profession, showing trust and close ties with the people's representative bodies; proactively and comprehensively, promptly, and effectively disseminating information to bring the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws into life; and making increasingly greater contributions to building a more effective and efficient National Assembly and People's Councils, worthy of the trust of voters and the people.
With the glorious tradition of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, the team of journalists is increasingly mature in political acumen, professional ethics, expertise, and professionalism; it is believed that the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels will continue to receive the active support of central and local press agencies. Journalists will explore, discover, and create new things to write about the National Assembly and People's Councils, continuing to affirm their role as a bridge between "the Party's will" and "the people's hearts," a forum for all strata of people to contribute their dedication and intellect to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland; creating a positive spread, encouraging the spirit of unity, aspirations, self-reliance, self-strength, and creativity among the people to build a prosperous and happy country - the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 7 A prizes, 14 B prizes, 20 C prizes, and 38 Consolation prizes to the authors and representatives of author groups whose works won prizes. The online newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam won the A prize with a series of 5 articles: “The Vision and Legislative Impact of the National Assembly” by the group of authors Kim Thanh - Manh Hung - Do Thoa - Kim Thoa - Kim Son. The third National Journalism Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils - Dien Hong Award - 2025 was launched.
The Organizing Committee of the competition selected and awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 agencies and units that made positive contributions to the success of the second Dien Hong competition.
