On the evening of January 5th, the 3rd National Journalism Award Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) was held in Hanoi. According to the Organizing Committee, the entries were diverse, high-quality, closely reflecting the pulse of life, and vividly portraying the functions and activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels. Many works focused on themes of reforming legislative thinking, institutional reform, and improving effectiveness and efficiency… The Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center had two winning entries.
Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly attended and delivered a speech at the award ceremony. Also present were former leaders of the Party, State, relevant ministries, branches and localities. On the side of Quang Ninh province, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation attended.
After three years of organization, the 3rd Dien Hong Award is considered a highly attractive journalism award. After more than 11 months of launching the competition, the Organizing Committee received 4,079 entries from 163 media outlets. This year saw the largest number of entries ever. The submitted works were meticulously prepared, multi-part, and utilized multimedia and graphics, demonstrating the professionalism of modern journalism and the serious and responsible work of the authors and groups of authors.
Professionally, the entries were assessed as diverse, increasing in both quantity and quality, especially in the categories of online journalism, radio, television, and print media. The works closely reflected the pulse of life, were diverse in subject matter and field, and vividly reflected the new priorities of the Central Committee, focusing on exploring new themes stemming from the General Secretary's directives; they also vividly reflected the functions and activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels in legislation, supreme supervision, and making decisions on important national and local issues, preparing the groundwork and strength to lead the country into a new era – the era of national progress.
After a rigorous and objective selection process, the judging panel selected 83 outstanding works to award prizes, including 8 A prizes, 15 B prizes, 20 C prizes, and 40 Consolation prizes. Among them, the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center had two winning entries: the work "Decisions for the People" by the team of authors Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa – Vu Thi Dung – Dinh Thi Phuong Anh won a B prize, and the work "Provincial People's Council innovates and improves operational efficiency" by the team of authors Pham Thu Trang - Dam Thi Van Anh - Nguyen Thi Ngoc - Hoang Truong Giang - Luu Thi Thuy Linh won a Consolation prize.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized: Building on the success of the previous two editions, this year the Organizing Committee received journalistic works that were innovative, creative, engaging, and persuasive, receiving positive feedback from readers and high praise from the judging panel. Many articles highlighted the efforts and determination to innovate and improve the quality of work, as well as the important and comprehensive results achieved in various aspects of the National Assembly's work in 2024.
Looking forward to the national holidays in 2025 and 2026, he expressed confidence that journalists would continue to uphold their passion for the profession with integrity, sharp pens, and unwavering intellect, accompanying the National Assembly and promptly conveying its activities in legislative work, supreme supervision, and decisions on important national issues; exploring and discovering shortcomings and obstacles in the process of lawmaking and law enforcement; and addressing urgent issues faced by citizens and businesses to report to the National Assembly and People's Councils for timely solutions; thus helping the National Assembly and People's Councils operate more effectively and efficiently, worthy of the trust of voters and the people nationwide.
Entries for the 4th Dien Hong Award - 2026 should focus on reflecting innovative thinking in lawmaking, innovation in supervision and decision-making on important national issues; closely adhering to the key tasks of the Party and State; focusing on in-depth analysis of the activities of the National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels, and elected representatives; summarizing the activities of the 15th National Assembly and the activities of People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; and aiming towards the successful election of the new National Assembly and People's Councils. Based on this, lessons learned should be drawn to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency of elected bodies under the leadership of the Party, contributing to bringing the country into a new era.
Also at the award ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh announced the launch of the 4th National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) in 2026.
