Attending the opening ceremony were delegates including: Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning, Guangxi, China; Ms. Ho Hieu Ninh, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi, Head of the Delegation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Representing Quang Ninh province were Mr. Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with representatives from various departments and agencies of both sides.

With the theme "Industry Cooperation - Joint Development," the 17th Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair 2025 will feature over 300 standard booths from Vietnamese and Chinese businesses, along with exhibition areas promoting investment, trade, and tourism in Quang Ninh province; an area showcasing typical OCOP products of Quang Ninh province; an exhibition area showcasing the socio -economic achievements of Mong Cai, Vietnam; and an exhibition area showcasing the socio-economic achievements of Dongxing City, Fangcheng District, Guangxi, China.
Specifically, China has 62 standard booths and 2 exhibition areas showcasing economic and social achievements. Vietnam has over 250 standard booths from 162 businesses from 31 provinces/cities nationwide and 3 exhibition areas showcasing economic and social achievements, promoting and introducing local products and potential strengths.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China has continued to maintain positive development momentum, achieving many important results in diplomatic relations and socio-economic fields. Through 16 editions, the Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair has become not only an annual trade promotion event in the border region, but also a comprehensive cooperation forum on economics, trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people cultural exchange between border localities, with a wide-ranging influence on many localities in Vietnam and China, especially the southwestern provinces/cities of China.
The comrade expressed his hope that in the coming time, Quang Ninh province and other localities of Vietnam, along with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and other localities of China, will continue to promote cooperation in trade, tourism, and investment, expand mutual understanding, and strengthen cooperation between the business communities and people of the two countries through cultural and sports exchanges and conference forums.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Ho Hieu Ninh, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Department of Commerce and Head of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Delegation, highly appreciated the coordination and implementation of cultural and trade exchanges between Quang Ninh and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in recent years. She particularly praised the trade and cultural exchanges. The organized trade fairs have become a continuous link, fostering deeper cooperation in the fields of agricultural product processing and consumption, and cross-border logistics. This has helped build a closely integrated industry and service supply chain between the two sides.
Within the framework of the fair, the following prominent activities will also take place: an exhibition showcasing socio-economic development achievements; an exhibition of OCOP products and typical goods from Quang Ninh; economic exchanges and product promotion at the fair; a forum on investment promotion and industry cooperation in 2025; a singing contest on the border river to promote cultural exchange between youth from Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China); the 3rd Vietnam-China International Friendship Run in 2025; and a number of trade promotion activities.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, assessed that economic and trade cooperation continues to affirm its role as one of the important pillars and a strong driving force of bilateral relations. For 21 consecutive years, China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner. In particular, bilateral trade turnover has continuously grown and is likely to set a new record in 2025, as in the first 10 months alone, trade exchange reached US$207.8 billion, exceeding the US$205.2 billion of the whole year of 2024 according to Vietnamese statistics.
The annual Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair, jointly organized by Quang Ninh and Guangxi provinces, will help strengthen economic, trade, investment, and tourism cooperation between the two sides. It will make a significant contribution to connecting businesses, promoting the exchange of goods and services, showcasing culture and tourism, and consolidating friendly relations and cooperative development between the two countries.


The 17th Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair 2025 is an activity within the National Program on Trade Promotion 2025. This year's fair will take place over 5 days, from December 11-15, 2025, at the Central Square of Mong Cai 1 Ward, Quang Ninh Province.
