The Party Central Secretariat expels two officials and Party members for violations.

Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; and based on the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Secretariat of the Central Committee decided to expel Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh and Mr. Diep Van Chien from the Party.

On May 26th, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, after considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee regarding disciplinary action against violating Party members, the Secretariat found that Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council; and Mr. Diep Van Chien, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, had shown ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and lifestyle deviations; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities, in the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and a very negative impact on the prestige of the Party organization and the agency/unit where they work.

Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; and based on the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Secretariat of the Central Committee decided to expel Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh and Mr. Diep Van Chien from the Party.

The Secretariat of the Central Committee requested that relevant agencies promptly and consistently implement administrative disciplinary measures in conjunction with Party disciplinary measures.

Previously, at its 6th session held on May 8th and 20th, the Central Disciplinary Committee decided to issue a warning and proposed that the competent authorities consider and impose disciplinary measures on several leaders of Quang Ninh province and former leaders of Bac Giang province (now Bac Ninh ).
