On the afternoon of April 21, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Head of the National Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (Steering Committee 389) chaired a national online conference to review the first quarter's work and deploy tasks for the coming time.

In the first quarter, the activities of buying, selling, transporting prohibited goods, smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, trade fraud and counterfeit goods across borders, land border gates, trails, border openings, sea borders, seaports, sea areas and key inland areas were not too complicated, and no hot spots arose.

During the quarter, illegal transportation of prohibited goods such as drugs, firecrackers, foreign cigarettes; smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods such as gasoline, oil, gold, wine, beer, sugar, cosmetics, functional foods, clothes, food, essential goods serving people's lives during the Lunar New Year emerged.

In Quang Ngai, in the first quarter of 2025, illegal transportation and trading of prohibited goods such as firecrackers, foreign cigarettes, smuggled goods; goods of unknown origin, counterfeit brands (mainly household goods, clothing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, DO oil, etc.) showed signs of increasing. Agencies, units, and localities actively and proactively implemented professional measures, strengthened local management, grasped the market; proactively coordinated between functional forces, so that many cases of transportation and trading of prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods and trade fraud were promptly detected; combined with propaganda work, it has created positive changes, contributing to stabilizing the market, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses, organizations, individuals and consumers.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son - Head of the National Steering Committee 389 commended the achievements of ministries, branches and localities in the past time. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, ministries, branches and localities continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister , and the National Steering Committee 389 on the prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Strengthen the inspection and supervision of the implementation of regulations, promptly detect and handle acts of smuggling and trade fraud. Promote digital transformation, application of information technology in the prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Strengthen the reception of information, detection and denunciations from people about smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
