The art program “Song of Victory” was directed by the Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Political Work, and organized by Ho Guom Theater in coordination with other theaters to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day over Fascism (May 9, 1945 – May 9, 2025). The program contributes to honoring humanistic values and spreading the message of peace around the world, especially the friendship between the two countries of Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Right at the beginning of the program, delegates and the audience had the opportunity to enjoy a famous work about the great patriotic war of the people of the former Soviet Union - the song "Victory Day" by David Tukhmanov. This work is considered a "fascist victory drumbeat" but was born quite late - 30 years after the end of World War II.

The work, following “The Country Full of Joy” by musician Hoang Ha, performed by singer Pham Trang, Meritorious Artist Pham Khanh Ngoc, the choir and the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Tran Nhat Minh, evokes the bustling, joyful atmosphere of Vietnam 50 years ago and the jubilant atmosphere across the country these days with many exciting activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Sharing about these two opening performances, Mr. Tran Hai Dang, former Deputy Director of the Institute of Music, said that this was the intention of the Organizing Committee. Because Vietnam is one of the countries that has experienced war and been colonized. The Vietnamese people always cherish the values of peace, and are more deeply imbued with the meaning of victory of peace-loving forces and the spirit of solidarity among nations around the world. The victory over fascism opened up opportunities for many countries in Europe and Asia to rise up and eliminate the shackles of colonialism, build and gradually form a global socialist system. The Soviet Union, as a leading force, not only contributed to protecting world peace but also became a spiritual and material support for the national liberation movement in many places, including Vietnam.

Russia is always a great friend, contributing to nurturing the souls of many generations of Vietnamese people with its culture full of humanity, depth and generosity. The spirit and beauty of Russian culture and art still exist in the lives of Vietnamese people and are spread through many cultural exchange activities between the two countries. The works selected for performance in the program "Song of Victory" aim to convey the above contents.

In the program “Song of Victory”, the Russian spirit and culture were conveyed through many famous works, associated with the great patriotic war of the Russian people - the former Soviet Union. The song “The Cranes” - a familiar composition by Yan Frenkel about the sacrifice of the Soviet Red Army soldiers in the great patriotic war 80 years ago - touched the hearts of the audience of the program. Many Russian lyrical songs have resounded on stages, in countless meetings and celebrations of both Russians and many Vietnamese people who have lived and studied in Russia since the 60s until now, continuing to be successfully conveyed in the music night: Two Banks, Fatherland, Afternoon in Moscow, Exciting Youth Time... People's Artist Bui Cong Duy also made an impressive comeback with the work “Sword Dance” - a famous dance by Aram Khachaturian.

Soldiers and artists of the People's Public Security Ceremonial Troupe captivated the audience with the familiar work "Farewell to Slavianka" (Farewell to the Slavian Girl) by Vasiliy Agapkin. For Russian music lovers, especially those who are connoisseurs of symphonic and chamber music, there are two special gifts from the program: Symphony No.5 - a musical masterpiece and the most popular and performed symphony by composer Dmitri Shostakovich; Overture 1812 - one of the most famous overtures by composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
