
On the afternoon of August 1st, in Hanoi, the Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) announced the 2024 Import-Export Report.
The 2024 Import and Export Report is an annual publication, released for the eighth consecutive year. The content is meticulously compiled, reflecting a comprehensive picture of Vietnam's import and export activities over the past year.
According to Nguyen Anh Son, Director of the Import-Export Department, in addition to information on the import and export situation of various product groups and markets, the report dedicates a separate chapter to detailing newly issued legal documents, highlighting new content to help businesses easily understand them.
In addition, the report provides statistics on trade defense measures that have been and are being applied to Vietnamese export goods by market, as well as trade defense measures that Vietnam is applying to imported goods.
The report includes additional content specifically on cross-border e-commerce, providing statistics on the size of Vietnam's cross-border e-commerce market in 2024.
Regarding international economic integration, the report introduces programs and projects currently being implemented to take advantage of opportunities from free trade agreements, such as: a set of indicators to evaluate the annual implementation results of FTAs by localities; an ecosystem for leveraging FTAs; and a project to receive, operate, upgrade, and develop an electronic portal on free trade agreements...

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's assessment, exports and imports are expected to recover strongly in 2024.
Export turnover reached $405.5 billion, and the trade balance for goods showed a surplus for the ninth consecutive year, valued at $24.8 billion.
At the event, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that this publication is an important handbook, providing useful information to management agencies, research institutes, training institutions, industry associations, and the business community, helping them exploit export opportunities to markets with high potential and promote sustainable exports.
Also at the ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Trade presented Certificates of Merit to businesses with outstanding achievements in exports; announced the logo of the Import-Export Department and signed a media cooperation agreement between the Import-Export Department and media agencies.
