At 7 PM on November 6th, a reporter from SGGP newspaper observed that along the coast of Quy Nhon ( Gia Lai province ), the wind had begun to die down, and people were out on the streets to check their houses and assess initial damage.

In the residential area along An Duong Vuong Street, many houses, shops, and buildings were destroyed or had their roofs blown off by the storm. On Luong Dac Bang Street, many houses and shops were devastated by the storm, with two shops completely destroyed.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vy (35 years old, residing in Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province) said that his shop was completely destroyed by the storm. “Around 5 PM, I was inside the shop reinforcing and protecting my property. At that time, the wind was so strong it ripped everything away, and the pillars were lifted high into the air. I only had time to run outside before the whole shop collapsed. When I returned, everything was gone, only some broken iron frames remained. Nearly 1 billion VND worth of investment is now gone,” Mr. Vy said sadly.

Similarly, Ms. Le Nhu Thanh Thuy (Quy Nhon Nam ward) worriedly said: “This is the first time I’ve seen a storm with such strong winds. My restaurant was severely damaged by the storm, and many other residents also suffered great losses. If this wind speed continues, everything will be devastated.”

At 8 PM, the storm returned, continuing its howling and prolonged tempest. Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province, stated that the provincial forward command post is still monitoring the complex developments of the storm. “Currently, the storm is raging and unpredictable. Military and police forces, along with armored vehicles, have been mobilized to assist in repairing damaged or collapsed houses,” Mr. Thuong quickly reported.
