Experts and scholars from cultural institutions and museums such as the National Museum of Cambodia, the National Museum of Indonesia, the National Museum of Laos, the Malaysian Chinese Museum, the Research Institute of the National Discovery Museum of Thailand (Siamese Museum), the National Museum of Vietnamese History, the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Vietnam, together with the National Museum of China, the Chinese Film Museum, the China Cultural Heritage Exchange Center, the Museum of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Nanhai Museum, (Hainan), China, the Liuzhou Industrial Museum, and the Institute of Heritage Digitization of the Dunhuang Academy gathered in Liuzhou, Guangxi. Revolving around the theme of “Museums and the Future of the City”, experts and managers reviewed the new picture of cooperation in the museum field between China and ASEAN, and reached consensus, opening a new chapter for museum cooperation.

Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Mai, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum - Vietnam attended and delivered a speech at the forum with the topic of Application of science and technology and digital transformation at museums in Vietnam and at Ho Chi Minh Museum, which received the attention of many delegates participating in the forum.
Within the framework of the forum, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation "Research on protection and sustainable development of Industrial Heritage" between the Asia-Pacific Regional Alliance of the International Association of Museums (ICOM ASPAC) took place.

In the afternoon session, the presentations were conducted in the form of a discussion, including a general discussion and small group discussions to connect museums and look towards the future development of museums, applying technology and digital transformation to museum activities.
Ho Chi Minh Museum and Vietnamese delegates participated in a discussion on cultural exchange, connecting heritage and tourism between the two countries with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The Forum is a meaningful and practical activity in promoting dialogue, cooperation and common development among countries in the region. This year's Forum, themed "Museums and the Future of Cities", not only reflects the global trend of the increasingly expanding role of museums in modern social life, but also opens up many opportunities for practical cooperation between cultural institutions of China and ASEAN. Experts shared pioneering practices, innovative ideas and successful learning from various perspectives such as the role of museums, inter-museum cooperation, protection and promotion of cultural heritage, and local cultural exhibition, and conducted in-depth exchanges on strengthening cooperation.
The successful holding of this forum has added color to the "China-ASEAN Year of Humanities Exchange". By focusing on the theme of "Museums and the Future of the City", the forum has vigorously promoted regional cultural exchanges, exchanges between civilizations, people-to-people connections and the prosperity of tourism.
