The elephant beetles arise and cause damage when cinnamon trees sprout new shoots, causing the shoots to wither and the trees to gradually become stunted, leading to loss of productivity. Immediately after receiving feedback from forest growers, the Bao Yen District Agricultural Service Center went to inspect, grasp the current situation of elephant beetle damage and instruct people on how to prevent the beetles from spreading widely.

The elephant beetle mainly attacks young cinnamon shoots in cinnamon areas from 3 to 6 years old.

The beetles bore deep into the young cinnamon shoots, causing them to wither and even break off.
To effectively prevent cinnamon weevils, experts recommend that people use measures. Specifically, manual measures should be taken: When detecting wilted shoots, they should be cut off to prevent weevils from sucking and laying eggs. Chemical measures: It is recommended to use biological pesticides with the active ingredient Abamectin such as Dylan 10 WG; Comda gold 5 WG... In addition, some chemical pesticides with the active ingredient Alpha-cypermerthrin; Thiamethoxam; Cypermethrin such as For tox 25 EC, Fascist 5EC, Actara 25 WG can be used.

People need to note: Spray the pesticide thoroughly on the tree tops and branches, spray twice, each time 3-5 days apart, spray completely and simultaneously. People need to plant at the right density, thin out appropriately to ensure ventilation for the cinnamon forest.
Recommendation: See the manufacturer's packaging label for the dosage and follow the "4 rights" principle (right medicine; right dosage, concentration; right time; right way).
