In Quang Ninh province, six kangaroos and 22 other wild animals were discovered and seized by the Hai Ha District Police while en route from Ha Nam to China.
The wild animals were discovered by the Hai Ha District Police in coordination with the Hai Ha District Forest Management Unit in a truck driven by Ngo Xuan Tung, 37, from Dong Trieu town, Quang Ninh province, in the early morning of December 25th at the turnoff to the Ha Long - Mong Cai expressway. Tung could not present any documents proving the origin or source of these animals.

After examination, authorities identified 14 ferrets, 6 kangaroos, 5 capybaras, and 3 rabbits. These species are not native to Vietnam and are not listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
On December 27th, the Hai Ha District Police handed over the wild animals to Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Care and Conservation Park.
Working with the police, Tung confessed to transporting the animals from Ha Nam province to China for sale. The police are currently finalizing the administrative violation case against Tung and his assistant.
