On November 2nd, the Economic Police Team of Ngu Hanh Son District Police (Da Nang City) executed an urgent arrest warrant against Ngo Uy Vu (41 years old, residing in Group 30, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District) to expand the investigation into the act of fraud and appropriation of property.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Kieu Van Vuong, Deputy Head of the Ngu Hanh Son District Police, the district police previously received a complaint from Ms. Lt. N.C. (residing in Thua Thien - Hue ) regarding being defrauded of nearly 300 million VND by a "land broker".
According to the report, Ms. LTNC was looking to buy land in the Quang Nam area. Through social connections, she was introduced to Ngo Uy Vu, a "land broker" in the Ngu Hanh Son district.
"Land broker" Ngo Uy Vu was arrested by the police of Ngu Hanh Son District.
Knowing that Ms. LTNC wanted to buy residential land or agricultural land to convert into residential land, Ngo Uy Vu introduced her to many plots of land in Quang Nam province (bordering Da Nang city).
Vu claimed to have extensive information about the land plot and its owner, and also had direct connections with leaders that could help facilitate the land's rezoning.
With the intention of defrauding and misappropriating property, Vu took Ms. C. to view land plots and then provided false information, fabricating details about the landowners.
Seeing that the four plots of land Vũ offered were cheap, Ms. C agreed to pay a deposit of 298 million VND. Vũ forged four contracts and falsified the signatures of the landowners to receive the money from Ms. C. After receiving the money, Vũ fled from his residence.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ngu Hanh Son District Police is continuing to expand its investigation into the fraud case.
