An Giang: Searching for the owner of the rotating savings and credit association accused of abusing trust to appropriate property

On the morning of September 24, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police announced that it had issued a decision to search for Duong Quoc Giang (born in 1996, residing in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province), to serve the investigation of the case of abuse of trust to appropriate property.

Through verifying the content of the people's denunciation, it was determined that since 2023, Giang has organized an online hui through the social network Zalo.

At first, Giang gave money to the members in full, thus creating trust. After that, Giang continued to open more chains to encourage members to participate.

During the process of making the hui, Giang impersonated a hui member (took a name, changed the name) to collect the hui and impersonated a hui seller to sell hui shares to the members in order to appropriate the members' money.

On January 2, 2024, Giang announced the collapse of the hui and dissolved all Zalo groups created by Giang as the group leader, then fled, with a total amount of money embezzled from 25 hui chains of about 4 billion VND.

  After the hui collapsed, the hui members could not contact Giang, so they filed a complaint about the act of abuse of trust and property appropriation.

Currently, Giang's whereabouts are unknown, and a search operation is needed to resolve crime reports. The An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency requests that individuals, agencies, and organizations with information about Giang immediately notify the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency (via the Office of the Investigation Police Agency, address: No. 507, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province) or the nearest police station.
