On the morning of July 30, at the Jianglong Chongzuo Training Base, Guangxi (China), the Vietnam-China Joint Army Training Command held the Closing Ceremony of the Vietnam-China Joint Army Training 2025.
This is the first time the two countries' Army forces have coordinated training on a regular scale, which has practical significance in enhancing bilateral defense cooperation, consolidating traditional friendship, and contributing to "Building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China" which has strategic significance for peace , stability and development in the region.
Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Van Lich, Deputy Commander of Military Region 1; Colonel Do Van Toan, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 1.
On the side of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, there were Major General Chen Liang, Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command Army; Colonel Zhou Xing'an, Commander of the Guangxi Border Guard Region; Colonel Gao Liqiu, Political Commissar of the Guangxi Border Guard Region, and Vietnamese Defense Attaché in China.

The joint training session, which took place from July 21 to 30, mobilized 140 officers and soldiers from both sides, along with more than 20 vehicles and over 170 pieces of equipment and weapons. The training content focused on main subjects such as reconnaissance, camouflage, use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), shooting, first aid, chemical defense, field logistics, bayonet, and joint coordination. In particular, for the UAV training subject, the two sides deployed 6 practical combat contents in mountainous terrain, thereby improving reconnaissance, attack, rescue capabilities and ensuring joint coordination.
During the deployment, the two countries' ground forces coordinated closely, conducted training according to plan, ensured absolute safety of people and equipment, and demonstrated professionalism, discipline, solidarity and friendship.
In addition to military training, cultural and sports exchange activities, and traditional cultural experiences of each country such as basketball, table tennis, chess, calligraphy, Chinese medicine, and performing arts... took place enthusiastically, fostering solidarity, contributing to enhancing understanding and mutual trust between officers and soldiers of the two armies.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Major General Tran Luong, Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, affirmed that this joint training session is a practical measure, thoroughly implementing the common perception of promoting military cooperation between the two countries, deepening the traditional friendship of "both comrades and brothers."
Major General Tran Luong also said that China is willing to join hands with Vietnam to organize joint training activities, which will serve as a basis for promoting substantive cooperation between the two militaries to a new height; making practical contributions to deepening the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation, and promoting a community of shared future of strategic significance.
On behalf of the Vietnamese military delegation, Major General Nguyen Van Lich, Deputy Commander of Military Region 1, affirmed that the joint training session is an activity to concretize the content of the Joint Statement between the two countries' senior leaders, practically contributing to deepening the motto of "16 words", the spirit of "4 good" and the orientation of "6 more", especially in the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025" which is being effectively implemented; the results achieved after 10 days of training are vivid evidence of the spirit of effective cooperation, overcoming language barriers, sharing experiences, improving combat capabilities as well as building a relationship of "both comrades and brothers" between the armies and people of the two countries.
On behalf of the Minister of National Defense , Major General Nguyen Van Lich respectfully thanked the close coordination and direction from the Chinese People's Liberation Army, especially the Southern Theater Command Army and the Guangxi Border Guard; and affirmed that the results of this training were an important step forward, demonstrating the practical coordination capacity between the two countries' Army forces in the task of maintaining peace, stability and security and order in the border area.
On this occasion, the Joint Training Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 20 Vietnamese and 20 Chinese team members who successfully completed the Joint Army Training mission "Joining hands - 2025".
