Passionate about basketball and having played for many years, Phan Van Hoang (from Ngu Hanh Son ward) is a loyal spectator, not missing a single match at this year's Danang Pro-Am Basketball Championship. Van Hoang said that watching high-level athletes compete helps him learn many useful things to continue pursuing his passion and practicing basketball more regularly.
The appeal of the Danang Pro-Am Basketball Championship has steadily increased over its four seasons. This is a near-professional basketball tournament with a well-organized and large-scale format, the largest of its kind in the city. Organized by New Sports Joint Stock Company and licensed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the tournament is part of the Vietnam Pro-Am Basketball Championship system.
The athletes competed in the men's 5x5 event. Ten teams participated, divided into two groups, playing a round-robin format to determine the best-performing teams for the knockout stage. According to the draw results, Group A included: X-BDC, Fearless Souls, Hustle Hoa Binh, Iron by Monkey3S, and Gecko Dunk. Group B included: King Cobra, Air Dragon, Jumpshots, Hoai Bao Workout, and Overseas.
After a series of highly competitive matches, the four outstanding teams that qualified for the semi-finals are: Overseas, X-BDC, Iron by Monkey3S, and Fearless Souls.
Among them, X-BDC is a highly successful team from Da Nang . In 2025, the team finished second at the Danang Pro-Am Basketball Championship and then went on to win the Vietnam Pro-Am Basketball Championship. This year, X-BDC aims to compete for the championship at the Danang Pro-Am Basketball Championship, but the challenge is expected to be significant, especially from the Chinese team, Fearless Souls.
This is the guest team, led by street basketball legend Wu You, who has made a strong impression with their fast-paced and effective style of play, becoming a challenging dark horse for the rest of the tournament. Athlete Nguyen Tuong Minh (X-BDC team) said that the team is striving to achieve their initial goal of reaching the semi-finals. The following matches will be more difficult, but the support of the audience is the motivation for the team to compete resolutely and keep the trophy in Da Nang.

Now in its 4th season in Da Nang, the Danang Pro-Am Basketball Championship contributes to diversifying the playing field and creating a launching pad for the basketball movement in the city to develop more strongly. Mr. Dam Huy Dai, coach of the Danang professional youth basketball teams, shared that for a highly competitive sport like basketball, regular competition is essential for athletes to develop their skills.

This is a great opportunity for young basketball talents in Da Nang to gain experience and hone their skills against experienced players and diverse opponents. This not only increases individual value, giving each athlete a chance to improve and explore their limits, but also contributes to improving the overall quality and competitiveness of the basketball community," Mr. Dai said.
According to Mr. Mai Viet Anh, in recent years, the basketball movement in Da Nang in particular and the whole country in general has undergone a strong transformation. To diversify playing fields for athletes and serve the needs of spectators, the Danang Pro-Am Basketball Championship was established. Good facilities and the support of the city government have helped make the tournaments impressive.
