Earlier, during a visit to Vietnam in 2004, Beckham had the opportunity to dine at a high-end restaurant on Ba Trieu Street in Hanoi. There, the former English footballer was treated to a feast of authentic Vietnamese dishes such as Hanoi spring rolls, snail patties wrapped in betel leaves, sticky rice patties, chicken fried rice with lotus seeds, stir-fried chayote shoots with garlic, and steamed grouper with Hanoi draft beer. To conclude the meal, Beckham enjoyed a dessert called "Jackfruit Pudding." According to the restaurant's chef, jackfruit is a familiar fruit found in many Vietnamese villages, so diners can sense this when enjoying the dish.
