Mr. Dang Minh Thong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea relic includes a system of wharves distributed along the coast of our country, stretching from Hai Phong city to Ca Mau province. Some of the main wharves include K15 wharf (Hai Phong city), Vung Ro wharf (Phu Yen), Loc An wharf (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and Vam Lung wharf (Ca Mau).
Loc An Wharf was one of the bridgeheads to receive weapons provided by the Central Government to the Southern battlefield via the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea. During the resistance war against the US, Loc An Wharf was one of the places to receive weapons from the 125th Naval Group. Here, the cadres, soldiers, and people of Xuyen Moc district in particular and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in general were brave, resourceful, and creative, overcoming the enemy's blockade; successfully organizing 3 ships to dock, transporting 109 tons of weapons, destroying a series of strategic hamlets , expanding the liberated areas, defeating the "special war" strategy of the US - puppet, contributing to the resounding victory of Binh Gia in 1965 and the struggle for national liberation of the Vietnamese people.
From the contributions and historical values of Loc An wharf, along with K15, Vung Ro, and Vam Lung wharfs, the Prime Minister issued Decision 1473 on November 26, 2024, ranking the historical relic of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail as a special national relic.
