Five-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu has been receiving treatment for leukemia at the hospital for over a month. Thu's father, Nguyen Ngoc Sang, 36, from Huong Ho ward, Hue City, said that since his daughter was hospitalized, the family's finances have been depleted because he had to quit his job to stay with her and care for her. "I am grateful to the 'Sun of Hope' program and the sponsors for supporting my daughter and other child patients being treated at Hue Central Hospital," Mr. Sang said.
Accompanying her son, 7-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Tien, who has been hospitalized for over 16 months, Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet recounted the difficulties her family has faced due to the long-term treatment. "Fortunately, the 'Sun of Hope' program has supported the treatment costs, easing our worries about hospital bills. We hope that many more child cancer patients being treated here and across the country will soon receive financial assistance from this program," Ms. Tuyet said.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Thang, Deputy General Director of Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam, said: "I hope each gift brings joy to the child cancer patients, so that they feel they are not fighting cancer alone."
Since its inception in June 2020, the Hopeful Sun program has supported the treatment of 900 pediatric patients with a total funding of 20 billion VND, including 160 patients treated at Hue Central Hospital with over 3 billion VND (including 23 patients who received stem cell transplantation). According to the January report, 30 pediatric patients have undergone autologous stem cell transplantation at Hue Central Hospital, ranking second nationwide in the number of autologous stem cell transplants for treating solid tumors in children.
Previously, the Hopeful Sun program donated a playground for child cancer patients at Hue Central Hospital. The playground includes rocking animals, slides, a ball pit, swings, seesaws, etc., along with tables, chairs, shelves, books, drawing books, and crayons so that the children can play and relax during their treatment.
Dr. Duong Anh Quan, representing Hue Central Hospital, said that thanks to the "Sun of Hope" program and sponsors, child cancer patients have been given added motivation to fight the terrible disease. Many families of child cancer patients desperately need the generosity of sponsors and benefactors.
With the mission of helping more underprivileged child cancer patients access treatment, the Hopeful Sun program aims to sponsor 400 child cancer patients nationwide in 2023. In its journey to achieve this goal, the Hopeful Sun fund has received support from millions of VnExpress readers and many businesses.
