On May 26, Military Hospital 175 under the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to celebrate its 50th anniversary, receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal, and inaugurate a treatment building with 1,000 beds and a modern parking garage.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175, said the 1,000-bed general hospital project started in 2016 with a total investment of VND2,500 billion, including 1 basement and 9 floors.
The hospital has the capacity to examine 5,000-6,000 people/day, treat 1,800-2,000 inpatients/day, and receive and provide emergency care for up to 300 cases/day. The building is modernly designed with 47 examination rooms, functional rooms, and 18 modern operating rooms, contributing to reducing the burden on the city's healthcare system and surrounding areas.
In particular, Military Hospital 175 is the first and only medical facility in Vietnam with 2 helipads, directly connected to the Emergency and Intensive Care Department through a specialized elevator system, helping to ensure the golden time for emergency, treatment and resuscitation before transferring to specialized departments.

The building’s underground parking lot covers an area of 8,400 square meters, with a capacity of nearly 1,000 motorbikes and 600 cars. In emergency situations, this area can be quickly converted into a field hospital, mobile emergency room or quarantine area, ready to respond to natural disasters and catastrophes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized that Military Hospital 175 has gone through 50 years of construction, development and growth.
The hospital's staff, employees and soldiers always promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, solidarity, creativity, overcoming difficulties, excellently completing the task of taking care of the health of officers, soldiers and people and participating in emergency rescue of soldiers and civilians at sea and on islands.
The Deputy Minister requested the hospital to continue improving its professional quality, build a high-quality human resource team, and strive to become one of the six hospitals invested in and developed at international standards.
Besides, the hospital also needs to continue to build a team of staff, doctors, and workers with expertise and good skills, and build a healthy cultural environment.
