108 Military Central Hospital aims to be the number 1 hospital in Vietnam

108 Military Central Hospital sets the goal of being the number 1 hospital in Vietnam; maintaining the leading position in most specialties, including at least 15 specialties on par with developed countries; achieving 4.7/5 points according to 83 criteria of the Ministry of Health, meeting JCI standards of the United States.

During 2 days of urgent and serious work (August 17-18) with the spirit of "Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Innovation-Development", the 35th Congress of the Party Committee of the 108th Central Military Hospital completed the proposed content and program. The Congress was attended by 189 delegates representing more than 1,800 party members in the Party Committee of the 108th Central Military Hospital.

The Congress was honored to welcome Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense.

Complete many tasks well and excellently

The political report of the hospital Party Committee stated: In the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee, the Hospital Board of Directors and Party committees and commanders at all levels always uphold the principles; lead and direct the entire hospital to unite, be unified, proactively overcome difficulties, and complete the 3 key groups of tasks set out in the Resolution of the 34th Hospital Party Congress, with many tasks completed well and excellently.

The hospital has successfully completed its mission of protecting and taking care of the health of high-ranking officials of the Party, State, Vietnam and Laos People's Army; examining, providing emergency aid, admitting and treating soldiers and people; scientific research, training and education have been strengthened; research, application and mastery of many new, advanced, high-tech and specialized techniques and technologies have been deployed; well implemented the work of directing the line and transferring techniques to medical facilities; and ensured military medicine at Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary, Truong Sa archipelago.

International cooperation has been expanded and effective, participating in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan and helping the Lao People's Army's medical staff achieve good results; completing the deployment of the organizational structure to meet mission requirements. The work of ensuring logistics, technology, and finance meets the requirements of regular and ad hoc missions.

The hospital has many innovations, invested in building spacious, clean, civilized, modern; professional ethics, service style are always renewed according to the orientation of Mind-Mind-Trust. Leadership capacity, fighting strength of Party committees, Party organizations and the quality of cadres and Party members are improved; Party work and political work are disciplined and effective.

With the theme of the congress “Innovation, creativity, enhancing the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee; Building the 108 Military Central Hospital – 108 Institute of Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy: Happiness-Academy-Heart-Mind-Trust”, the hospital has set out the direction for the coming term to continue to promote the implementation of 3 breakthroughs, creating strong and synchronous changes and main goals.

Firstly, improve the quality of professional work, the quality of comprehensive patient care, with high professionalism, meeting national and international standards and criteria in hospital management and organization and building a cultural environment of "Happiness - Academic"; continue to affirm the position and prestige of the Hospital in medical examination, emergency, admission and treatment for soldiers and people, especially protecting and taking care of the health of senior officials of the Party, State, Army and performing international missions.

The hospital innovates and improves the quality of training and education to meet mission requirements; improves foreign language, information technology, and "digital knowledge" for medical staff to have more opportunities to access advanced and modern knowledge and techniques, especially for young doctors, pharmacists, and engineers.

Strive for 100% of key staff of agencies and units to be trained in hospital management and military medical command; over 75% of doctors, pharmacists, and engineers to have postgraduate qualifications; 100% of doctors born after 1984 to have foreign language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher; 100% of nurses to have college and university degrees, 100% of head nurses and chief administrators to have university degrees or higher (of which over 60% are postgraduate).

Speaking at the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San praised and congratulated the results that the Party Committee of the 108 Central Military Hospital had achieved in the past term; agreeing with the contents of the political report at the congress.

Faced with increasingly high mission requirements, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San emphasized that in order to complete the goals and tasks of the next term, the 108 Military Central Hospital needs to constantly innovate, create, improve the quality of scientific research and digital transformation, and better perform the work of caring for and protecting the health of soldiers and people.

In particular, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the policies and directions of the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense on the work of caring for and protecting the health of soldiers and people. Continue to lead and adjust the organization of the force to be lean, compact, strong, and operate effectively and efficiently; maintain regularity, strictly maintain discipline, build a strong and comprehensive hospital that is "exemplary and typical", with a standard and healthy military cultural environment.

Along with that, the leadership closely combines modern medicine and traditional medicine; effectively deploys new, high-tech, specialized, cutting-edge, modern techniques. Expands and diversifies types of medical services, technical services and clinical practice applications in specialties.

The hospital continues to improve the emergency resuscitation system, protocols, technical processes, advanced and suitable diagnostic, treatment and patient care models; build a system of professional processes to meet the development requirements according to specialties and the digital transformation roadmap.

At the same time, leaders effectively carry out the direction activities of end-line hospitals and leading hospitals; improve the quality of emergency care, treatment, disease prevention, disaster prevention and emergency and sudden situations.

Promote breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, creativity and digital transformation in the healthcare sector, meeting the requirements of healthcare and protection of soldiers and people in the new situation. Focus on leading the development of a team of cadres, doctors and medical staff who are “bright in medical ethics, profound in medical theory, and good at medical techniques”. Strengthen education, training and improvement of professional qualifications, medical ethics, sense of responsibility and service attitude for cadres, doctors and staff, ensuring “both red and professional”.

The Congress elected 17 comrades to the 35th Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the 108 Central Military Hospital. Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Physician Nguyen Hoang Ngoc continued to be elected as Secretary of the Party Committee of the 108 Central Military Hospital.

The Congress received many quality comments on the draft Central documents; the draft Political Report of the Central Military Commission to be submitted to the 12th Army Party Congress; discussed and approved the Political Report, the Review Report of the Hospital Party Committee and the draft Action Program to implement the Congress resolution. The comments of the delegates showed the spirit of solidarity, innovation, aspiration to contribute, and determination to realize major goals in the new term.
