The secret to turning goals on paper into real-life "perfect scores"

(NLĐO) - "The longest road is the road from the mouth to the hand. It sounds good to say, but it's hard to do." This expert's sharing has made many 12th-grade students ponder.

In the recent "Bringing Schools to Students" program organized by the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, Dr. Phan Thi Cam Giang, Head of Psychology at Saigon International University, stated that the alarming reality today is that many students set ambitious goals for their future but lack a specific, appropriate, and scientific study plan. This leads to a situation where "they talk a good game, but do a poor job."

Develop a scientific study plan.

Dr. Giang stated that anxiety before exams is natural and "common to everyone," even parents are experiencing similar stress. To relieve psychological pressure and study effectively, Dr. Giang suggested the following for students:

- Identify your strengths and weaknesses.

- Define specific goals (clearly distinguish between simply getting into university and getting into a university/major that you love).

- Develop a weekly and monthly study plan for the exam subjects.

- Establish a regular diet and rest schedule.

According to this expert, building an effective and scientific study plan is essential. However, many students need to be determined and take it seriously, avoiding the situation where they only "study on paper".

"Students shouldn't try to take on too many goals and tasks at once. The most common situation is that when it's time to study one subject, they're already working on exercises for another subject to prepare for exams. One task piles on top of another, leading to ineffective learning and stress for the students," Dr. Giang pointed out.

In addition, students need to pay attention to proper diet and rest. There have been many cases of candidates collapsing from exhaustion, falling asleep in the exam room, and high-achieving students only achieving average results...

Psychology is becoming a trending field.

Answering students' questions about career opportunities after studying psychology, Dr. Giang said that this field of study has been developing in Vietnam for about 20 years and will become a trending field of study in the future.

Why has psychology become such a "hot" field of study, attracting so much student interest?

In the past, this field of study did not receive much attention. This stemmed from societal limitations, where people primarily focused on "having enough to eat and wear." As socio -economic life developed, people's needs gradually changed, becoming more concerned with "eating well, dressing well," and receiving more care and services. This created a major turning point for the field of psychology.

"At Saigon International University, psychology students are required to take all courses related to the foundation and specialization of psychology; there are 8 courses taught entirely in English, providing opportunities to access foreign resources and develop foreign language skills; students complete their graduation thesis with a scientific research paper," Dr. Giang informed.

Graduates in psychology can work in a variety of positions such as psychological counselor, clinical psychologist, market research specialist, recruitment specialist, etc.
