Hanoi residents enjoy experiencing the Nhon – Hanoi Railway Station metro
According to records, at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, August 11, a line of people lined up at the entrance to Cau Giay station to wait to experience the Nhon - Hanoi station metro line. Pham Dao Minh Nhat (20 years old, a student at the National Economics University) was present from 7 a.m. to help guide people to the station. "Yesterday I also came here to help. Today the weather is cool so more people came to experience the train than yesterday," Nhat said. According to Mr. Kieu Quang Huynh (Captain of the Station Operation Team of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board), in addition to the 5 main staff on duty, today we have to add 5 more people on duty. "In addition, we also have to mobilize 15 more people from other departments to support. Cau Giay station is the key point of the line up to now, so the number of passengers coming in and out is higher than the other stations," Mr. Huynh informed.
According to Mr. Huynh, as of 4:30 p.m. today, the number of passengers is estimated at about 54,000 people. It is expected that by the end of the day, the number of passengers entering and leaving the station will reach about 70,000 - 80,000 people. Thus, the number of passengers experiencing the metro will break the record of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line in 2023, which was 53,076 people. Ms. Do Thi Xuyen (43 years old, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) is extremely excited because it is the first time experiencing the metro. "Although I had to wait in line for a while, I think it was worth it. The train runs smoothly and has cool air conditioning. I can also admire the view of Hanoi from above," Ms. Xuyen shared. After more than 14 years of construction, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line has completed the elevated section and officially opened for commercial operation from August 8. In the first 15 days, passengers are free to travel by train.

Because the number of coin-type train tickets issued could not keep up with the number of passengers arriving, at some stations, the management board had to issue paper tickets.
