Binh Lieu: Ready for peak summer tourism season

Mr. Duong Phuc Thim (owner of Huong Hoi Que homestay, Dong Van commune, Binh Lieu district) completed the infrastructure to prepare to welcome guests.

Having just opened in late 2024, Huong Hoi Que homestay (Dong Van commune) has welcomed a number of European groups to stay during their journey to explore Binh Lieu. With architecture inspired by the traditional earthen houses of the Dao people and modern interior design, the homestay meets the needs of many types of tourists to relax and experience the local culture.

Mr. Duong Phuc Thim (owner of Huong Hoi Que homestay) shared: When I started building the homestay, I thought about how to impress foreign visitors. They traveled a long distance to experience the diverse culture of the local people. In addition to the accommodation space and unique ethnic cuisine , I designed itineraries for visitors to trek through cinnamon and anise forests, Khe Van waterfall, and admire the wild and majestic nature of Binh Lieu. Many visitors were excited and said they would come back. With the support of the District Department of Culture, Science and Information , I create content for the fanpage, promote the homestay through social networks with the expectation of welcoming many guests during this summer tourist season.

Recently, Binh Lieu's accommodation system has been increasingly improved with 3 hotels, 24 motels, 13 homestays, serving capacity of about 1,200 people. For tourism to develop sustainably, going into depth based on three "pillars" of nature, culture, and people, in addition to meeting the increasing demand for accommodation, Binh Lieu strives to diversify tourism products with its own identity such as eco-tourism, nature exploration; community cultural tourism; agricultural tourism; adventure tourism; resort tourism. The district creates all conditions and encourages individuals and businesses to participate in socializing the upgrading of tourism infrastructure.

Tourists coming to Hoa Binh Lieu Cooperative this summer can experience many new and attractive tourism products.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Director of Hoa Binh Lieu Cooperative (Hoanh Mo commune), said: To prepare for the peak summer tourism season this year, the Cooperative has renovated the landscape, planted many new types of flowers; upgraded the infrastructure of the accommodation; and made the service style of the staff more professional. Visitors will experience traditional herbal bath services, traditional cuisine, harvesting clean agricultural products, camping activities, evening campfires, team building, etc. The goal of the Cooperative is to extend the length of stay of visitors from 2-3 days. In the upcoming peak summer months, the unit strives to welcome 2,000 visitors and 150-200 guests staying/month. In particular, the Cooperative is building a resort product combined with cherry blossom viewing, currently planting 10 hectares with 9,000 trees, spanning 8 locations in Hoanh Mo commune, expected to be exploited from the end of this year.

Binh Lieu also determined to promote and introduce various forms of tourism potential of the locality. In particular, the flow of Chinese tourists is highly expected after the entry and exit activities through the Hoanh Mo - Dong Trung bilateral border gate pair were deployed. During the 2025 Wind Abstinence Festival held from April 30 to May 4, the district proactively invited a delegation of government, artists, and people of the Fangcheng area (Fangcheng City, Guangxi, China) to participate in the exchange, opening up many opportunities for bilateral cooperation in tourism and cross-border trade in the coming time.

The opening ceremony of the Wind Abstinence Festival 2025 attracted many people and tourists.

According to Mr. Vi Ngoc Nhat, Head of the District Department of Culture, Science and Information, the district's tourism communication and promotion work has been promoted thanks to the application of digital transformation. Communication channels such as social networks, tourism websites, attractive videos and images are important tools to attract tourists; regularly coordinate with tourism businesses to promote through large platforms such as Trip advisor, Vietravel... Accommodation establishments also have their own promotional platforms. Along with that, continue to raise awareness of the local community about the benefits of tourism and train service skills to create a professional and friendly tourism environment.

By the end of the first quarter of 2025, Binh Lieu district welcomed nearly 38,000 visitors. During the recent April 30 holiday, about 14,000 visitors chose this place as their destination. These are positive signals for Binh Lieu tourism to make a breakthrough in the following months, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development in this important pivotal year.
