Visiting Binh Lieu these days, along both sides of the road, you can easily see people busily peeling cinnamon bark, carrying cinnamon in baskets, and the sounds of laughter and conversation echoing through the mountains and forests. A vibrant and energetic rhythm of life signals the arrival of the cinnamon harvest season in the highlands.
During each harvest season, not only are the forests and mountains bustling with people peeling cinnamon, but the collection points at people's homes are equally busy. Thanks to this, people are able to almost fully exploit the value of the cinnamon tree.
Mr. La Ngoc Duong, Head of the Agriculture and Environment Department of Binh Lieu district, shared: currently, Binh Lieu not only grows cinnamon but has also expanded its linkage with four stakeholders to grow organic cinnamon. In Huc Dong commune, a model of linked organic cinnamon cultivation has been implemented on over 100 hectares.
"Currently, Huc Dong commune is disseminating information and guiding households to follow the instructions of specialized agencies to increase the value of cinnamon harvests in the area and aims to increase the area of organic cinnamon cultivation in the future," the Head of the Agriculture and Environment Department of Binh Lieu district further emphasized.
