Amidst the early autumn chill of Zhengzhou, as snow begins to blanket the racetrack, a tour of the BYD Multi-Terrain Race Track offers a unique experience: sitting behind the wheel, listening to the stillness, and letting technology subtly assist with every movement.

Zhengzhou welcomed us with the first snowfall of the season. The snow wasn't thick, but enough to create thin patches of ice on the track, blanketing the vast space of the racetrack in a soft white hue. A place traditionally associated with speed and skill suddenly became more tranquil, like a stage designed for slow, deliberate observation of every movement.

The DENZA Z9GT model demonstrates its snow and ice crossing skills in the Kick-Plate Zone.

On the slippery, snow- and icy surface, the DENZA Z9GT and DENZA N9 models began their performance. The cars accelerated and then deliberately entered the low-friction section, their bodies briefly sliding before quickly regaining balance. This movement was reminiscent of figure skaters – not because of the recklessness, but because of how the car accepted the slide, then controlled that slide to continue moving seamlessly.

As they circled the track, weaved in a figure-eight pattern, or ran parallel at a maintained distance, the cars created a steady rhythm, enough to excite the onlookers, even though everything unfolded in a rare stillness for a racetrack.

The YANGWANG U9 boasts an impressive appearance and capabilities.

If outdoor "ice skating" demonstrations test composure, then within the showroom space, the YANGWANG U9 supercar offers a completely different experience. As the music plays, the car's body rises and falls, tilts, and self-balances with each beat, like a dancer practicing in a closed room – where every movement is controlled to the utmost.

These "dancing" movements are not merely for visual appeal. They occur rhythmically and purposefully, demonstrating how the suspension system actively receives and processes feedback from the road surface as soon as it appears. In that quiet space, the technology doesn't display power, but rather precision – a form of performance felt through rhythm, rather than numbers.

The YANGWANG U8 luxury off-road vehicle boasts impressive sand dune climbing capabilities.

In another area, the YANGWANG U8 continued its story at a leisurely pace. In the specialized wading pool, the water level rose, almost completely obscuring the wheels. The electric SUV entered the environment not meant for cars with remarkable composure. There was no rush, no attempt at showing off. The U8 moved smoothly, maintaining body stability, leaving the impression that this was not just an obstacle course, but BYD's vision of safety in extreme situations.

Another impressive challenge unfolded before the admiring audience: climbing a 29.6-meter-high, 28-degree sand ramp – a feat certified by Guinness World Records as the largest indoor sand ramp for vehicle testing. On a sand dune formed from 6,200 tons of material with a structure similar to the Alxa Desert, vehicles such as the FANGCHENGBAO, YANGWANG, and DM-i/DM-p SUVs conquered the terrain. Here, the ability to climb the slope, control torque, and maintain traction was demonstrated slowly and patiently, without any ostentatious display.

The FANGCHENGBAO F5 demonstrates superior capabilities when conquering challenging routes.

The story concludes in the off-road area with 27 tests ranging from basic to advanced. BYD's SUVs, including the FANGCHENGBAO F5, successively climbed and descended steep and incline slopes. There was no familiar engine roar of traditional off-road driving, only steady movement and sustained traction. In that moment, the boundary between electric vehicles and traditional off-road driving blurred, giving way to the feeling that technology, when mature, can adapt to more roles than we imagined.

Leaving the BYD Multi-Terrain Race Track, what remains is not speed or power, but the feeling that electric vehicles have matured enough to tell their own story – through tranquility, technology, and confidence.
