Binh Xuyen maintains high economic growth

Binh Xuyen district implemented the Resolution of the 20th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025 in the general context of the country and the locality still facing many difficulties and challenges, directly affecting production, business activities, economic growth and people's lives. With the determination of the Party Committee, government and people, after more than half of the term, Binh Xuyen has achieved and exceeded 20/27 targets set by the Resolution of the District Party Congress, in which, it made its mark with an economic growth rate of 21.68% (the congress target was over 16%).

As a key district for industrial development in the province, in order to maintain high economic growth, soon complete and exceed the targets set by the District Party Congress, right at the beginning of the term, the District Party Committee and People's Committee focused on leading and directing departments, offices, and authorities of communes and towns, together with investors, to promptly grasp difficulties and obstacles to take measures to remove them, in order to promote local socio-economic development.

In particular, focusing on 5 key tasks: resolutely implementing site clearance; attracting investment in industrial parks (IPs); doing well in planning; investing in completing technical infrastructure of IPs; and transport infrastructure.

Every year, immediately after signing the commitment to implement the targets and tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the District Party Committee organizes the assignment of specific targets and tasks to each agency, unit, and locality; assigns members of the Standing Committee in charge of branches and Party committees to direct the implementation of tasks; the District Party Committee Standing Committee and the District Party Committee Standing Committee regularly listen to reports from localities and units on difficulties and problems, promptly giving instructions.

To specify the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the District Party Congress, the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee issued 7,940 documents directing Party building, building a strong political system, leading and directing the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, and ensuring national security and defense.

In particular, in economic development, promoting the advantages of the province's key industrial area, Binh Xuyen district gives top priority to planning the development of industrial zones and clusters, focusing on site clearance, investing in technical infrastructure, and being ready to welcome investors.

Along with planning work, Binh Xuyen prioritizes resources to build technical infrastructure and traffic infrastructure, creating convenient connectivity between localities and industrial parks and clusters and between factories and industrial parks.

High voltage power systems are installed on all roads; transformer stations are arranged harmoniously, ensuring 24/7 electricity supply for production and always lit at night, serving workers to travel safely after work.

With methodical and steady steps in industrial development, especially creating consensus and support from the people, over the years, Binh Xuyen has always been the leading locality in the province in both the number of industrial parks and the number of investment projects, especially FDI projects.

Currently, the district has 7 industrial parks approved by the Prime Minister , with a scale of 1,800 hectares, attracting more than 400 FDI and DDI enterprises with a total registered capital of more than 4 billion USD.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the district attracted 16 more FDI projects; adjusted capital increase for 15 projects, total investment capital estimated at more than 253 million USD. Of which, newly registered investment projects reached nearly 140 million USD, existing projects registered to increase capital reached more than 113 million USD. Up to now, there are 299 projects with total registered capital of more than 5 billion USD.

The strong development of industry, investment attraction, trade and service development have created momentum for the socio-economic development of Binh Xuyen district to develop rapidly with high and stable growth rate every year.

The average economic growth rate of the district in the 2021-2024 period reached nearly 21.68% (exceeding the target of the District Party Congress Resolution by 5%); budget revenue reached more than 4,500 billion VND (exceeding the target of the District Party Congress Resolution by 2,000 billion VND). The economic structure shifted towards industry accounting for 96.39%; services 2.9%; agriculture, forestry and fishery 0.72%.

Up to now, 20/27 targets set by the District Party Congress Resolution have been completed and exceeded. The targets signed with the Standing Committee every year have all been completed at a high level, in 2021, 27/27 targets were completed; in 2022, 33/36 targets were completed; in 2023, 30/32 targets were completed; in 2024, 27 targets were assigned. Up to now, all targets are being implemented, ensuring progress.

Along with achievements in economic development and investment attraction, cultural and social fields continue to receive investment and development attention, creating new highlights when Binh Xuyen is the locality with the lowest number of poor households, by early 2024 it was only 0.5%; is the first district in the province to complete phase I of building a Model Cultural Village; average income per capita reaches 65.5 million VND/year; maintains 3 Soong Co Clubs of the San Diu ethnic group; preserves and promotes intangible cultural heritages listed on the UNESCO list, included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages for the period 2021-2025, oriented to 2030...

Continuing to maintain a high and stable growth rate, contributing to the completion of the goals set out in the Resolution of the District Party Congress, in the coming time, Binh Xuyen will focus on building an urban infrastructure system, focusing on urban embellishment, traffic infrastructure, environmental protection... to meet the criteria of a civilized and modern type IV urban area in the direction of developing an industrial urban area associated with tourism, trade and services.

Along with that, the district continues to invest in and upgrade traffic infrastructure and traffic routes connecting industrial parks and industrial clusters, promote the attraction of large projects, promote the development of processing and manufacturing industries on the basis of restructuring to attract investment, pay attention to industries that do not cause environmental pollution, develop green economy, circular economy, high technology, core technology, with high added value such as chip manufacturing, semiconductor industry.

Focus on building social housing areas, worker housing, parking lots, parks, squares, commercial centers, educational infrastructure; select and attract reputable investors with financial potential to implement projects.

Pay attention to land management, environmental protection, resolve hot spots, incidents that have the potential to become hot spots causing insecurity, disorder and social safety; strengthen national defense - security, social order and safety, improve people's material and spiritual life...

Strive to make Binh Xuyen a town by 2025, contributing to creating a breakthrough driving force for the construction and socio-economic development of Binh Xuyen in particular and Vinh Phuc in general.
